the only games that don't work are usually because of zealous DRM and anti-cheats.
it's not that Linux can't , it's mostly how it's perceived by the public but something like Steam deck and steam OS prove you can have an easy to use interface on a linux oriented device.
even on desktop mode steam OS has a app store that is not harder to use then google play , click install , play and it's work.
playing all my games on linux
i suggest you give it a try

Even if you get the game going, the anti-cheat will eventually auto-ban you, as mentioned in the comments.
These days, even AAA titles not only launch, but advertise being SteamDeck verified.
An AAA title advertising Linux compatibility two years ago? Pretty much unheard of.
While i wish more titles would run natively on Linux and not through Proton/WINE, i still think this is an important step for more acceptance of Linux as a gaming platform.
never tried it, but a quick look says it is fixed

give it a try again
i have played several mmo's so far with no troubles
An excerpt from literally the second post on that page I linked.
partner
really read
"7 months ago the game would kick you after 10mins, now it seems that it just works. was able to play on my account on deck."
that second post was 7 months ago vs the 3 days ago of the quote
2 Months ago:
"Installs:Yes
Opens:Yes
Starts Play:No"
And as far as I know, DFO did not change their ToS.
What you are referencing is a single post, and that specific post you are referencing even says, and I quote, "this might change in the future to unplayable again."
I have read this page thoroughly.
instead of playing this game
i downloaded dfo
and am currently logged in and playing
i am using the latest manjaro
I spent like $500 on the game. I would not risk that over a chance of getting banned just to play on Linux.
It's a bit like saying Playstation isn't a viable console for gaming because you want to play Halo.
