Yeah. It's because the devs don't turn on the option for it to work on Linux.
That's it.
Well, you are very wrong. EAC does have Linux support. Devs only need to flip a switch to enable it.
So, the option is available, the game just needs an update to use it.
Then goes on to complain about the post-install stuff you gotta do, and that you gotta go download drivers somewhere.. for the love of god, man, that's exactly what happens on windows too. install, then spend a day cleaning out cortana, telemetry, and a metric ton of useless apps and background services. And then you go to amd/nvidia . com website and download the drivers. And then you go over half of it next month when microsoft re-enables and reinstalls stuff with a forced update.
Gaming on Linux has a ways to go, but it's quite good, and windows was never perfect. Gaming on linux is going to improve dramatically now that the steam deck is out. Gaming on windows is not going to get any better, and the whole os is gonna keep treating you like a peasant leasing their pc from microsoft.
All operating systems ♥♥♥♥. Nearly all computers ♥♥♥♥. Linux is less infuriating in the long run.
what are you on about?
i dl'd the game and played for an hour
it works fine and i got no warning about me being on linux
once again, you are shown that it works and then come up with something else
partner,
you are running out of room

Tim Sweeney, Epic Games CEO, says:

Honestly it seems quite understandable to me that linux isn't supported (on purpose) in some multiplayer games.
Is that why they literally released tools to have EAC work on Linux?

It's 'answered' with speculation. Which ironically goes against Epic's actions or working with Steam for EAC compatibility for Proton and WINE.
But hey, Sweeny isn't really known as an honest guy.
now you just look silly
go tell steam they cannot let this run on the steam deck because it breaks the rules
then report it to the devs of that game
let them know that people on linux can play
i will wait to see what it is they tell you
i mean
the lengths you are going to try and fit this agenda of yours together
just amazingly useless
don't worry
we will see

does that thumbs up mean that you do not know?
i mean
i say straight up i can use it and do not know anything about it being against any rules
and i can see posting that warning if you found some post
somewhere
saying that this has happened
but saying it to say it is just too much and straight fearmongering
