I don't think you can... maybe using something like DNS filters to avoid ads beign loaded?

Not sure if that's still a thing

That's what Pi-hole is for.

Hello
This is the worst decision made by valve about their new client release and imo you should not use it as a browser.
Valve should remove the button to call it...

What exact decision? Can't be the browser being there, Steam has had a (useless) browser long before the latest UI changes.

Yes it still a thing lol. But prices are still not reasonable yet sadly.

No, there is no way, and it's unlikely there will ever be a browser extension or add-on mechanism in the client because addons outside of Valve's control would be a phisher's dream.

Adguard Home. I've tried Pihole and Adguard Home and the latter is lore user-friendly.

Another possible pi-hole like solution if you've got a relatively recent Asus router is the Asuswrt-Merlin firmware + Diversion. https://diversion.ch/diversion/diversion.html

We installed it a couple of years ago, mainly for blocking ads on phones, smart TV, etc. I've always had reservations about it. Software which can directly manipulate CSS is better than pi-hole type solutions, but of course, not always an option. Diversion is a bit too aggressive out of the box for my liking and required a fair bit of whitelisting.

It's still a thing.

You're not limited to Raspberry Pi.
Pi-Hole can be installed on any Arm or x86 hardware that can run Raspberry Pi OS, Ubuntu, Debian or CentOS.
There's even a Docker version.
