Why can't we play on tablet without Steam link?
How is it not like any other computer? Why can we not just download Steam and play the games without requiring remote play?

Because your tablet isn't a PC.

you obviously won't have any luck running Steam games using Android tablets or anything that isn't Intel/AMD (exceptions exist). There should be no reason why Windows Tablets won't run games

Your tablet uses ARM processor. It's a completely different kind of processor from the x86 processor in your PC. It speaks a completely different language, so to speak. Software written for ARM doesn't work on x86, and vice versa.

Why is there an ARM processor in your tablet but an x86 processor in your PC? ARM processors tend to focus on things like smaller form factors, battery life, size, efficiency, low heat generation, and cost. This is why ARM cpus dominate small portable electronics and mobile devices.

There are x86 tablets out there, like the Microsoft Surface, and there are ARM based PCs out there like Chromebook laptops. The Steam Deck is a good example of a portable device with an x86 processor in it.
