This sale is a joke!

You call this a sale? Most of these games are extremely overpriced, will only play for 10 mins type of games. Most of these games you can also get for free on the Epic store, so why would I pay 20 bucks for a free game. Gabe newell has really let us down again on this one. I mean I can get jagged alliance for 42 bucks and on this site its 56, why would I pay so much more for the same game? I feel like these games are purposed overpriced to pay the wages of his community team, and don't get me started on that one.

We as customers demand a real sale! Were is the sale we were promised? Gabe we demand better!

At least Epic and GOG sell games for cheap or most cases free.

Must be regional pricing then. Games on Epic have the same discounts and on GoG games are a tad more expensive.

Idk why you are using a game that isn’t even out yet as an example of how this sale is bad.

New and preorder games are pretty much never subject to steam sales, the current sale is their own pre-order sale, not the summer sale itself.

i'm not agreeing with this thread topic, many current games on sale right now are historic low price, with basic metric tracking sites.

steam is giving good games at good prices. they're not 'always' good prices, but you can't 'always' get what you want.

Of the few years Ive been using steam this is the worst summer sale I've seen and can agree with how the OP feels. Not a one is worth a buy to me after browsing.

I even googled why it sucked to see how many others feel the same and sure enough I wasnt the only one!
Is there any notable title with a notable discount someone here can share? *dont include RDR2..

That depends on what you consider "notable". I assume you mean "popular and/or big budget" titles by that? Or do you mean "great indie titles in niche markets", which can also be considered "notable"?

One thing I miss from the old SPUF days is we used to have 'best deals' and 'Hidden gems' threads during sales. Now these subjects moved to reddit once SPUF was closed. You can check them there and see what other people have found.

We haven't had them for years, most of us have gotten used to it.

I find it more relaxing the way its now. Plenty of time tomcurate my purchases, no hurries, checkout problems due to overload and so on.

sure, there s pros and cons to everything - i found the flash sale madness fun XD but as said, i still managed to get what i wanted and then some, so all s good

The main issue was people holding off purchasing stuff hoping it might come up on a flash sale, then not buying anything when it doesn't happen. Making people wait gives them time to talk themselves out of a purchase, especially when disappointed that a better deal didn't happen.

Apparently, sales went up when they stopped doing that because people were more likely to buy something right away instead of waiting for a flash sale that might not happen.

Steam should only be used as platform and not as a store.

I did 13 purchases on Steam during the sale, only 3 of those games are on GMG and both were more expensicve (one by 1 cent ( ), the other 2 aren't even discounted).

I like keyseller sites and such, but their catalogs sadly often enough are limited.
