Don't you love forced updates?
Hopefully by then, all of the bugs/issues will be fixed/reported.
lets you move stuff out of the way, has the nice notes feature, and you can organize the toolbar to your liking.
my only complaint is that i can't have a default preset every game uses since i don't like having my friends list open in the overlay (especially in singleplayer games).
and sure, there's not really "a reason" to change any UI - but it's done anyway because the new UI is better 99% of the time. True for all software.
and i think Valve wanted to standardize all the UI elements, so they overhauled it for that reason.
1) The current overlay also does that in the Game Information panel (which is enabled by default, but if not just click the i-icon in the overlay UI)
2) Why not just.... close the game normally? Or alt+F4 if it's really that big of a deal.
3) That just sounds like laziness on your part imo. They're all labelled and fully configurable in the settings. I learned it within 30 seconds or so and found the settings on my own by going to the settings menu. Knew beforehand Steam (and Valve) love giving people options, so it stands to reason the new overlay would also come with options.
It's the same stuff as the old overlay with a shiny new coat of paint. This one's been a lot more functional, and the notes feature is a godsend. Didn't realize just how much I'd use it lol.
