None of which means a damn thing if Microsoft won't fix/update code for said "antivrius/firewall/adblockers" of which in turn will no longer update their code for windows 7 which means you just shot yourself in the foot 1000 times over.
Please - stop lying to yourself.
If your going to use Windows 7 - fine - even better if your offline - but don't misinform and spray garbage at people like you know better.
Those security upgrades do more then prevent viruses and worms, they keep up with how security exploiters new means of breaching your PC. This is why Windows 10 has a Core Isolation feature where Windows 7 nor 8.1 does, it prevents outright all access from your Windows 10 OS Core.
In simpiler terms - Windows 7 being unpatched means there are perma-holes in the system - they can just "walk in" without invitaiton. (Unless your disconnected :P)
Windows 10 will be in the same boat in 2025 (October).
The real question is - do you risk it? or not?
Just don't misinform people is my pet peeve. (At general audience)
You've got until October of 2025 - that's over a year away. Not like you have to go right now.
I don't plan on changing OS's until 2025 at a minimum.
stop win7 and we congratulate valve
you can thank me later
*Hands over 5$USD*
Good Job. Good Job.
Not exactly true xd
True about that win7 is vulnerable to any new unpatched cve but most of the time an exe/script need also to be use locally witth this vulnerability and the role of the antivirus is starting here.
And agree linux is safer than windows but may be because it's also less used, no clue if there is link between both "use and security" but i can imagine that as linux is less used as an desktop os, hacker use less time/effort to work on it after all
And last , keep in mind that vulnerability did not appeared the day before the patch has been released and can be in the wild a long time before.
I use Ubuntu and I'm fine after abandoning that crap Windows 10, but I agree with the OP. Valve's regulations often conflict with the laws of different countries, this is an anti-consumer practice and has already been sanctioned for these reasons several times. It cannot force the user to change operating system.
i mean... i'm not gonna give up on windows 11.... its the best...
Funny like you are building your story by sidebanding on some others subjects ... strawman adept ?
What do you expect me to answer you ? Don't you use antivirus too on so lovely bs windows 10 os, i hope that you are using one like anyone here.
unfortunately i do not think there is other solutions on the long term...
And it's better than before because upgrade for windows is/was free for a long time. There is no other solution than pushing new os , for the case of microsoft, if they want to continue earning money...
