I am willingly agreeing that to happen, on all my Windows 10/11 PCs (more than 2 of those). :)
Please note Google will gather much more detailed info anyway, not only on my PC via Google search & GMail use, but from my Android phone too. :)
So, Microsoft is actually less evil from the two.
Sorry i do not use google or android or gmail ... just stay vigilant ...
Me too as anyway too much can't be avoided but it does not mean we need to agree.
I am agree to be "spyed" but i want some part of the "dime" they get with our data ...after all, we are the real final product and the target ( sweet dream )
I'm okay with being spied on to some extent but I wouldn't make it easy for them in any way
THANK you, Mr Newell
have you finally bought your little pc @xBCxRangers ?
Nope, same old duster. Works perfectly lol. Playing these PS2 era games, in HD, with controller support are a blast.
hehe xd
You do not need to let your comp unplugged , steam is working flawless on w7 ,so it would save your game on the cloud .
Yeah, but it's better unplugged. No updates to ruin my controller. No latency or lag. Personally, for me, i would have done that all along if i knew i could.
For the newer games, i just play on Ge Force Now on my Xbox. They go thru cloud on there.
1) Email account provider you you use?
I have Yahoo and AOL too (the 2 of them have the same owner now), as well as my ISP given email, as well as a local Bulgarian email account (i.e. local Gmail alternative), but use Gmail the most.
2) If not using Android, then what is it?
Do you not use any smartphone, such as Apple iPhone?
As you likely know, Apple does lots of telemetry too. :)
Or do you somehow still run a Nokia 1100 with flashlight (no OS)? :)
Cool ,just plug it sometimes in order to do steam cloud save if you have steam.cfg because last release is a bit to much memory angry for your comp if i remember well of it chacteristics.
i just use my provider mail no other account like gmail or yahoo and about phone it's a old sony erickson ( mobile) that just do phone and i also use the current phone delivered with my provider rooter and internet account.
When i need to use mail for signing on some web site, first i do not use many and clearly avoid this kind or web site else i use a temporaty email adress like 'Your 10 Minute Mail address' ( https://10minemail.com/ )
hehe i allready told him and asked to use it last year but he did not wanted to listen to me and get banned for that xd
I have stubborn reason to not update to Win10 that is because MS wanted to push it down on our throat at all cost. More they worked on it more I hated that system, as also I love my Win7.
Meanwhile I read about Win10 and these telemetry, bloatware stuffs and extra work needed to disable stuffs, for example the WinUpdate what start whenever it want.
Now I resisted so long I dont feel of need to move to Win10. Im curious about Linux Mint as also im lazy and dont want to start it untill Win7 work.
just use virtualbox from oracle and setup a mint release inside a vm if you want to be more familiar with it ( 2 mints : minit with ubuntu and mint with debian) Mint with ubuntu tend to be a bit more frequently updated than the debian one.
And do the same with w10 so you can check both os.
First, stop believing the conspiracy theories that Microsoft wants to spy on absolutely everyone for "Evil" reasons.
They are not doing that. In fact they have their office in a state with some pretty strict laws against such actions. They also have more important stuff to do. Like actually making a hill sized pile of cash. Spying on you is not how they get rich.
This "bloat" is absolutely nothing. Just like your favorite Windows 7 has installed programs when you do a fresh install. Windows 10 will also have it. Windows 11 have it too.
You can just right click and uninstall most of them but the core features will have to stay. But whatever you install normally will end up using more power than anything Windows have installed.
Can take the your Internet browser. Doesn't matter which. It will use more power and resources than any windows task ever has. Yet I doubt you're gonna blame that if there is an issue with performance.
Telemetry is just anonymous data and you can turn this down to a minimum at very install of the OS. It literally asks you about it and you can turn all of them down or off.
Windows 7 ALSO have Telemetry and some say you can remove it if you uninstall a certain windows update patch. I have my doubts. But it's also said it's much more aggressive. So you know, you probably been living with it for years without any problems.
Why is windows update so bad? You want to update your OS to the latest version when using it. Windows update will run in the background and the time you notice it, is when you're about to turn off the PC because it'll say an update needs to be installed.
For Linux you can expect problems. Maybe not right away. But there will either be programs or games that will not work.
