And if those are going unsupported like browser, try something with supermium browser, an up-to-date browser that works on windows 7.

And i like this profil photo.
I've heard about Supermium so I might try that soon.

The profile picture is Nahida from Genshin Impact if you're wondering.
I know nahida from Genshin Impact

If refering to consumers on PC market, it's no where near most used worldwide, hence single low digits percentage compare windows in double high digits percentage, basically like comparing the hight of Eiffel tower to small single floor house.

If ref to business, and services then yes it's very common world wide, along with windows.
hello

Stop talking for people that is an horrible habit from many of you .

No it does not specifyed consumer os marketshare we all know that the value is low but counting linux as an os , it mostly use than windaub . os consumer + server + mobile + chipsets etc
If you meant Android OS, yes, it is based on Linux but is not real GNU Linux.

Much of the OS is non-free, non-GNU Google-added proprietary (closed source) crap. :)
So, it is Linux but not quite.

It isn't. It literally just surpassed 6% global usage.

Okay, I am confused now!

Why lump in phones, tablets, desktop PCs & even laptops together!?
This is not useful at all.
Why did you share that link?

Try giving OS usage stats for desktop PCs + laptops only.
(Well, maybe non-iPad/non-Android tablet PCs too.)

That would indeed be useful, what you shared is a bunch of useless random stats. :)

You are including tablets and phones?

We're talking about computers. As well as AndroidOS isn't considered a Linux OS just because it's Linux based.

So, again, it's false to say Linux is the most popular OS in the world.

Because it explain why i told you that linux is the most used os worldwide not limiting to pc support when you said "linux suck" xd

Linux sucks! :)

If it was good, why did under 4% of users use it until recently?
Would you use an OS that is used by only 4% of users?
I clearly would not.

Then look at Linux servers market share! It is very high.
Linux is simply not an end-user OS, it is a server OS, by design.

So, praise it all you want - you still know it won't ever "take off" compared to Windows and even macOS. :)
hello

So you do not know that linux is the most used os worldwide xd

No, no!

1) Linux is great for servers, I cannot deny that.

2) Linux is way too rarely used for desktop PCs & laptops i.e. by end-users.
Has just over 4% market share, reached recently. (Was under 4% prior.)

3) Android OS is not exactly Linux. :)
I love Android and have over SIX devices here, in all shapes & sizes.
(many phones, plus 2 tablets)

So, my "Linux sucks" comment refers only to point #2 above.
For #1 and #3 I find it great, with just the disclaimer that Android OS is not fully GNU Linux.

hello

Not a lie a different interpretation based on a different point of view as android is a fork of linux and based on linux kernel with proprietary adds and different than gnu/linux if we are considering devices and not only pc.
As of January 2024, Android, a mobile OS that uses the Linux kernel, is the world's most widely used operating system. It has 41.61% of the global market, followed by Windows with 29.02%, iOS with 18.18%, macOS with 6.1%, desktop Linux at 1.51%, with the remaining 2.21% being ChromeOS, Windows Subsystem for Linux, and numerous smaller operating systems.[1] These numbers do not include embedded devices or game consoles.
Nonetheless, wikipedia group all linux os base kernel as the same , as they did with all windows kernel so it you want to rewritte wikipedia, it's up to you, just create an account and make correction if it does not pleased you.
One interresting part from the wikipedia page is a board where you can see os sharemaket per kernel ( windows kernel, linux kernel and apple-darwin)
Linux has completely dominated the supercomputer field since 2017, with all of the top 500 most powerful supercomputers in the world running a Linux distribution. Linux is also most used for web servers, and the most common Linux distribution is Ubuntu, followed by Debian.
fun to know also and do not forget that https://www.steamdeck.com/en/ is shipped with linux xd

The Mobile Gaming market is bigger than the PC and Console market combined. That's just facts. :happymeat:

No, it's a lie.

Mobile platforms are not Linux. Using those as a way to measure popular OS is dishonest.
