Might be because it's late but I don't get it.
Windows 3.11 was a good operating system Edit: Overlay. MS-DOS 6.22? Really good. It included Scandisk!
We need a DOS based Steam client. :P
Surely you jest. We need a Linux-based one, and we have one. But MS-DOS was so good....
It's really not. I've seen plenty of Windowses since before there were Windowses. Window 8's Metro UI? It's outdated beyond belief. Cortana? Oh, outdated beyond belief yeah. Let's see? Google Hangouts? Yea. Stadia? Same. It's hard to keep up with all the fads you know?
Average Cellphone lifespan, US: https://www.statista.com/statistics/619788/average-smartphone-life/
3 Years. How many cellphone-lives old are the people commenting? It's very easy to fall into a disposal mindset. Ask your literal grandparents to tell you about Maytag and Whirlpool appliances. Yes washing machines and dishwashers. They last for decades. That's 10's of years.
Would be nice if we had something a little more like that in consumer goods as well. They cost as much as major appliances in some cases. 3 years, like a phone, or 3-5 like an OS seems a little costly to me.
That's right. SteamOS is native for the deck and ChimeraOS brings it to the PC easy. That's if you want it only for gaming. See my Penguin Post for a more versatile and easy-to-use multi-purpose free OS.
Better go for a distro with stock KDE imo. Wubuntu tries to hard. It might looks like win11 but that sets the wrong expectations since it doesn't behave as such.
