GOG has revoked games before.

If the license is revoked, you are supposed to delete your copy of the game.

Same license situation, it is just that Steam can actually enforce it rather then trusting the user to do what they agreed to.

Same with DRM free games on Steam. The developer trusts you will remove them if you refund them.

You're missing the point. You're dealing with another company, just like Valve. They are a game developer, just like Valve. You don't own your games any more on GOG than you do on Steam.

but I can play them offline and not have to update a machine i'm quite happy with the way it is. As the exploits grow with windows 7 as tech moves on. With GoG at this stage i can just disconnect this and play happily.

My personal recommendation to people is to get a back up computer that is dual boot and put stuff you want on it and use it rarely.

Cyber warfare is going to ramp up even more and tech is going fast evolution.

Your last sentence made zero sense. There hasn't been a evolution really. Sure our processing power has gotten alot better but till we see quantum computers, not much of leap will be made.

As for timelines, in the tech world back in 2008, anything past 6 months was considered 'out of date' in the tech world. I imagine its still around that mark, maybe 4-5 months now. Going by that metric, Your windows 7 is lookin' mighty dusty.

I was generally speaking when I referenced windows 7, not so much what you may be using but everyone's darling example in this forum so that is also on me for not clarifying.

And Well.. chrome I have a love hate relationship with. It hogs SOOO much ram. Its great for Anything Google related, but thems the brakes.

Dodged a bullet with discord this hobbit has then . Tried Discord years gone something glitched before i could complete registration and thought nah. I am not a social media person i spend enough time on these forums as it is don't want to maintain anything else.
