No one will ever forget the backlash from that decision.
#freetheworkshop
problem solved.
You aren't mad that there are modders but you are mad that you can't use their work for free. This is a very bad mindset.
Sorry, but modders took their time to create sth new and have the right to ask for money. If you don't like it then move on and play without those mods.
So, I'm not sure what this thread is even about.
Many devs like modders and the idea of modding and historically lets be frank..
[Goldblum] Modders...uh...find a way[/goldblum]
My main complaint with Nexus isn't the account I signed up for all those years ago, it's the password being now like 16 characters minimum.
Modders must toil and slave for possible thanks and adoration of the public and m,aybe the occasional coin tossed their way.
ATS is a bit different, and likely problematic, being i was made to be under the assumption that the forums and developer, are totally separated from the Worskhop.
And it's gotten to the point, half those Mods they're putting up, are contingent on paid mods you may get from their own personal sites, or other venues.
If you get banned like i did, you do no have access to reaching out to those Modders at the Workshop. Which tells me, the developers either advertantly or inadvertanty, in cahoots with the modders.
Advertantly, meaning they can be getting a cut. Inadvertantly, the Modders ar making money on a product they do not own. I've seen GTA sue modders as an example.
And so, it's probably a good idea, to keep additions to "paid" mods, out of the Workshop, being inadvertantly, whatever may happen, can be laid at the developers or Steams doorstep, np matter how much they want to distance themselves.
Oh, this is a new conspiracy.
