Can remote play detect friend's controller?
Trying to play wwe 2k19 with a friend using remote play and in game it detects my controller and keyboard but not my friends controller. Is there a way to detect his controller too? Or do I need to plug in another controller?

You actually have to set all of this up yourself when they connect to you. Tab out of the game and look at the new Steam window which open up specially for that.

As long as Steam itself detect your friend controller on their end then it will work. Just assign them whatever # of input you want.

The vast majority of the time there is controller error or mistake is because the controller wasn't plugged in fast enough before joining the game. Make sure everybody has their computer recognise the controller before joining in, yourself included.

Are you talking about the 4 controller icons on the bottom of the remote play window? It tells me I can rearrange them, but there's nothing I can drag anywhere. My controller works in game, but I guess it's not being detected by remote play? I tried launching in big picture, but then I can't even access the remote play menu from big picture.

Yours is different because you are local. And yes, I meant that particular window. You can remove access to a specific input in that game per player basis. Or you could switch one of your player from input one to imput two, or three. Whatever.

Make sure this work right. Sometimes it isn't and don't get assigned by default. I've given you more pointers to check, like make sure that every controller is plugged in before you join the game.

I've been having similar issues with a friend. We try to use Remote Play Together for a few games and his controller doesn't get detected at all. Mine works fine and his used to be detected like 3+ months ago. One day it just didn't work but his Steam does detect his controller and he can use it on his games and everything perfectly fine. It's just the Remote Play Together not detecting it for some reason.

We even asked Steam support about it and they just said they can't provide help due to people having unique systems. I'm pretty computer savvy and have tried many different things but still haven't found a solution.

I've tested Remote Play Together with many other friends too and they all work perfectly fine. Both with PS and Xbox controllers.
