Indeed, I was wrong and this is true. I tested this on my brothers dead acc. Here are the videos of me locking a GTA V achievement and then unlocking a new achievement in L4D to refresh the stats.
Re-Locking an achievement[streamable.com]
Refreshing stats[streamable.com]
I was under the impression that you can't fully lock an achievement from a conversation I had with someone over at the Steam Achievement Hunter subreddit a while ago about re-locking all achievements via SAM making a game not count as 100% anymore even if you do get all achievements. He said you can "visualy" change it, but the unlock status of an achievement will never change in the Steam's internal system and he told me to lock an achievement and then look at the Rarest Achievement showcase where it will still be present. I did that, and he was "right." Nothing changed. But I didn't know that you needed to play and unlock an achievement to refresh your stats back then. I only learned this recently when this whole "remove game and all achievements with them" thing began.
They have unintentionally made it possible to get rid of games you regret having/playing and clean up your stats at the same time. So far it looks like they did not intend to do so. But, hopefully, someone noticed the user feedback and maybe in the future we shall see permanent implementation in some way or another.
Probably what they were trying to say is that even if you lock all the achievements of a game, the game still counts as a 0% game for the avg. Yeah, those locked achievement will "disappear" of every place, but the game still counts.
They weren't saying that - I was (if you're referring to my Reddit conversation). I don't know why but I have this thought in my head that if you lock all achievements via SAM the game will never count as being 100% again, even if you 100% it. It will only count as 0% and be bugged. Dunno if this is 100% true, since I didn't lock all achievements and then 100% a game again, but I still like to recommend to anyone who might use SAM to just leave one achievement unlocked.
Perhaps I'm wrong, and someone will do an experiment where they show this is not the case. But since that person on Reddit told me this was false because re-locking all achievements again won't cause this issue since SAM can't fully lock achievements anyway, which I've now seen is false, I have no reason to trust otherwise (unless there is actual proof of re-locking all achievements not bugging the game to not count as 100% even if you 100% it again after).
and why bother the support with this usless task
Why are you responding to a post about a topic you clearly don't care?
And since you can't read apparently, this isn't about hiding a game it's about removing it via support and with it all of the achievements that go with it. Before this whole thing, even if you removed the games via the support option, the achievements still counted towards people's AGCR% and stats. The ability to remove a game and its achievements from counting towards AGCR% is something many in the achievement-hunting space wanted for a long time.
Not false. You can unlock it again with SAM but it's not guaranteed that you will get it in-game legitimately again. For example, you need to get 100 kills in some multiplayer game. Devs could have coded it so you unlock your achievement the moment you hit 100 ( x == 100) instead of (x >= 100). Then you play the game for a while and get a lot more kills. Once you lock your achievement with SAM you effectively have just one option if you want to get that particular achievement again. There can be many games and many achievements like this in multiplayer and single player games.
It doesn't happen often or to a lot of games nowadays, but it's one of the things that can break by using SAM if you're unfortunate enough to have such a game.
the last few weeks they were permanently removed from the tab i was very happy. why are they back. it seems like a bug. this was patched prior 3 weeks.
