Removing games via Steam Support now removes them from counting towards AGCR%?
Is this a bug or is Valve really doing this? Before removing a game via Steam Support page was basically a fancy way to hide your games. It didn't affect the achievement number you had, nor the Avg Game Completion Rate %. But now it does.

So, is this a bug or are they really sticking with this, as I didn't see or hear about this anywhere until today.

EDIT:

There is a bug that if you had a game, removed it via support but bought it again instead of getting it back via support, the game's achievements won't count towards your showcase stats. If this happens to you, contact support. Go to the "It's not in my library" option and then select "It's still not in my library" so you can send a message to support.

Thanks bron99 for this. You're amazing

EDIT 2:
Vavle fixed the double license issue.

EDIT 3:
This was just a bug it seems. Removed games have their achievements count towards your stats once again.

EDIT 4:
This was not a bug. It seems the bug is if you remove a game via support and it still counts. I dont even know what is real anymore at this point.

EDIT 5:
I legit don't know anymore. I contacted support and they said this is how things are supposed to be (meaning you can't remove achievements if you remove a game via support). Here is the SteamGifts thread[www.steamgifts.com] where I first saw this was even a thing. It's also here that I saw the OP of the post contacting support recently and them saying it's a feature but after I contacted them I was told it's not.

Steam doesn't update the Achievement Showcase until some unknown, long time has passed OR the user earns another achievement in any game. When you locked a single achievement using SAM it likely was removed from your showcase but that stats hadn't updated yet.

Indeed, I was wrong and this is true. I tested this on my brothers dead acc. Here are the videos of me locking a GTA V achievement and then unlocking a new achievement in L4D to refresh the stats.

Refreshing stats[streamable.com]

I was under the impression that you can't fully lock an achievement from a conversation I had with someone over at the Steam Achievement Hunter subreddit a while ago about re-locking all achievements via SAM making a game not count as 100% anymore even if you do get all achievements. He said you can "visualy" change it, but the unlock status of an achievement will never change in the Steam's internal system and he told me to lock an achievement and then look at the Rarest Achievement showcase where it will still be present. I did that, and he was "right." Nothing changed. But I didn't know that you needed to play and unlock an achievement to refresh your stats back then. I only learned this recently when this whole "remove game and all achievements with them" thing began.
Once you unlock any achievement in a game, it is added to the list of games that count for your average stats and there's currently no way for us to remove a game from that list. Until of course the temporary bug with games deleted through support menu.

They have unintentionally made it possible to get rid of games you regret having/playing and clean up your stats at the same time. So far it looks like they did not intend to do so. But, hopefully, someone noticed the user feedback and maybe in the future we shall see permanent implementation in some way or another.

Probably what they were trying to say is that even if you lock all the achievements of a game, the game still counts as a 0% game for the avg. Yeah, those locked achievement will "disappear" of every place, but the game still counts.

They weren't saying that - I was (if you're referring to my Reddit conversation). I don't know why but I have this thought in my head that if you lock all achievements via SAM the game will never count as being 100% again, even if you 100% it. It will only count as 0% and be bugged. Dunno if this is 100% true, since I didn't lock all achievements and then 100% a game again, but I still like to recommend to anyone who might use SAM to just leave one achievement unlocked.

Perhaps I'm wrong, and someone will do an experiment where they show this is not the case. But since that person on Reddit told me this was false because re-locking all achievements again won't cause this issue since SAM can't fully lock achievements anyway, which I've now seen is false, I have no reason to trust otherwise (unless there is actual proof of re-locking all achievements not bugging the game to not count as 100% even if you 100% it again after).

why are you using the support page when you can hide the game normaly ?
and why bother the support with this usless task

Why are you responding to a post about a topic you clearly don't care?

And since you can't read apparently, this isn't about hiding a game it's about removing it via support and with it all of the achievements that go with it. Before this whole thing, even if you removed the games via the support option, the achievements still counted towards people's AGCR% and stats. The ability to remove a game and its achievements from counting towards AGCR% is something many in the achievement-hunting space wanted for a long time.

This is also wrong. You can 100% a game after you re-lock achievements and it still counts as perfect.

The only downside to re-locking achievements is it counts as a started game even if you set it back to 0%.
Without evidence to prove that, I'm just gonna recommend to people I know they leave one achievement unlocked. And I'm not interested in playing a game to 100%, then locking all of the achievements, then 100% it again.
It depends on the game if achievements can be earned again after they've been manually locked. It is possible that in-game stats have been changed permanently and not even starting a new game will help, especially in multiplayer games.

Not false. You can unlock it again with SAM but it's not guaranteed that you will get it in-game legitimately again. For example, you need to get 100 kills in some multiplayer game. Devs could have coded it so you unlock your achievement the moment you hit 100 ( x == 100) instead of (x >= 100). Then you play the game for a while and get a lot more kills. Once you lock your achievement with SAM you effectively have just one option if you want to get that particular achievement again. There can be many games and many achievements like this in multiplayer and single player games.

No, it really does depend on how the game developers did the triggers in-game. Locking the achievements through SAM doesn't do anything on the games side, as it cannot access the games code (and triggers are in the games code). So if the game developers used triggers that can only be done once, the achievements cannot be reobtained.

It doesn't happen often or to a lot of games nowadays, but it's one of the things that can break by using SAM if you're unfortunate enough to have such a game.

you can restart the games. it's literally a non issue. the only games where you (potential) can't re-unlock the achievements are those with server-side achievements, but in that case you can't lock them with sam anyway
perfect games tab is broken again, now the 3 games i removed many years ago have re appeared again "mayo, loot hero, the park" they just came back 30 minutes ago!
the last few weeks they were permanently removed from the tab i was very happy. why are they back. it seems like a bug. this was patched prior 3 weeks.
