Note the gyros are a controller/game specific config. Its not enabled on every game. You can simply choose a default configuration that doesn't use gyros for a game its pretty simple
16 gigs shared system ram with a graphics hybrid is horrible, who designed this thing and why did they try to mass produce it?? at least do a small batch then manufacture a better version with more system ram.
feels like valve just didn't know what they where doing.
Joycons? Controller issues? iFixit sells parts so people can tinker without fear if something goes wrong or if they drop the Deck. Right to repair is considered a good thing and every site/channel worth anything has praised Valve for allowing this.
Secondly, the CPU glitch is incredibly rare. As of today, Valve’s shipped 3 million units and I’ve only seen it a few times - Valve’s always replaced the unit. As bugs go, this is one of the rarest ones and it will not happen to most people. Oh, and so you have a source from Valve for your claims on why this happens?
As for Windows/Linux issues? The average user will stay in Game Mode, and the Desktop Discover store functions like any other App Store people have been using on phones for decades. Also…people can just install Windows if they want - it’s a PC.
Oh, and one last thing, do you have a reputable source for your claim that the battery has a serious and dangerous overheating issue, yet? It’s been weeks and you keep avoiding answering this simple question.
May I simply recommend you ignore them and report their posts instead. Its pretty obvious they're 100% not interested in actually backing up any of their nonsense claims and asking them to do so is simply an act of futility. The more you respond, the more that troll can simply bump thread as if they're 'contributing'. Report, block, move on.
Edit: I just don’t want them freaking people out because they’re worried the Deck might randomly explode because a rando poster keeps brining it up.
spam is non coherent or continuous repeat looping messages. something most of you seem to do on every thread you reply with. i guess having to buy 100's of steam games gives you the right to ridicule and harass free steam users.
whats strikes me as odd is how quickly the same people always hit up the forums, then try to derail topics, this guy just wants to buy a steam deck at a store, which the reason he can't is steam is trying to hide the fact that it isn't selling millions of steam decks, steam could send 20 steam decks to every location of game stop, best buy, walmarts, and targets all over the usa.
they aren't, they would be doing that if they really wanted to sell the product, same reason behind the valve index , limited people are willing to dish out the money today for these things, and the companies sell them at mark down when they don't sell
steam is doing two things by not releasing it to stores nation wide.
1. steams collecting all the user information for its own sales an redistribution
2. able to control the lies of product sales because there is no physical logistic brick store data.
stores like walmart, best buy, target, and gamestop, all have review sections where items can be given stars and reviews, something steam seems extremely worried and scared about, you can read more about it on the steam deck forums.
6/10 is 3 stars on the rating, its not bad but its underwhelming and as time continues to pass it becomes less and less user worthy. its not 2018 any more, and 16 gigs was decent in 2018 now its 2023 32gigs is decent with a dedicated 8gig or higher video card.
so steam deck is about 5 years behind the curve, any other questions?
as for battery topic, just look up what happens to lithium batteries when they over heat or overcharge, its scary.
Delivering the steam deck from this site is as secure as advertising your money to the biggest thief on the planet and waving it in front of their face.
Something must be done, I can't re purchase a steam deck if delivery is 0% secure put the package in a box that doesn't say steam deck higher a secure deliver ferm, you can't trust FedEx or Hermes if there just gonna keep stealing the steam decks over and over, royal mails more trust worthy than them and their as slow as a snail.
They don't want to sell it at a massive loss, their margins are already razor thin, selling thru a store means they would take a big loss on every unit sold as a store isn't going to pay them retail....
