Steam Link input lag issue? Do i need the steam link hardware?
Hello guys. I am having some problems regarding to Steam Link App on my smart TV. Im not sure if this is the right place but i didnt see any specific Steam Link forum here.

My PC and TV is in same room. I notice huge difference between my screen and TV as i use controller. Should i get myself the hardware version of Steam Link to fix this?

What does Steam Link hardware actually? What is better than the app there? Bandwith cap exist both on app and hardware if i am not wrong. But at least does it fix the input lag issue?

Not necessarily. Your TV suckomg is one cause, bad network performance is another.

If those two are in the same room anyway, why not run an HDMI cable?

Pro tip: a TV being new doesn't automagically solve network problems (assuming those are the cause which is the most likely case).

What i meant is that i am using cable connection and even with wireless i was having 30mbit on the network test. With cable i was also getting 30mbit but i think nvidia gpu hardware encoding caps this at 30. When i disable nvidia hardware endcoding i am getting 100mbit on network test. But this difference did not really improved overall performance. Im not sure what could be wrong with my network. And as i said TV is also a newer model from 2022. So the Steam Link is really mysterious for me about these problems. There couldnt be any delays or very small with the cable. Im not sure if i am making something wrong or not.

KISS is a great principle. If you can run an HDMI cable with the 2 being in the same room, do. It's a REALLY simple solution with the least amount of interacting parts.

If that's not an option, then troubleshooting Steam streaming it is.
