There were also articles back then about games not coming to Steam that Ubisoft now has decided to put on Steam anyway (among which Valhalla). Thus such an article is hardly an explanation in todays times.
Steam "blocked" screenrant because I put a > in front of the link, it's fixed now.
You asked for an answer as to "Why [sic] far cry 6 still not on steam?". There is your answer. Because Ubisoft has decided to not release it on Steam.
Its funny to me how I just keep forgetting that game ever came out, not because I'm board of farcry, but because there is no good news site for games anymore so I stopped trying to find them, and all I ever see is steam's new game lists. it came out nearly a year and a half ago and if you told me it came out today I would think its new.
You get the bare minimum of *just* the game, and at least three launchers or EULAs to plow through instead.
So if you intend on buying Far Cry 6 on Steam then it is probably going to be literally the same as buying it directly from Ubisoft Connect, except with some more steps involved.
It's pathetic, but it is modern Ubisoft's way of "nickle and dime"-ing every storefront on PC at this point.
I believe Ubisoft views Steam as a competitor to their own PC game launcher, so they want to distance themselves from it.
So yes FC 6 will come to steam, but not anytime this quarter or so. It seems to be doing well with its exclusivity.
I don't speak English, so I apologize in advance for any mistakes. To answer the question, the game Assassin's Creed Valhalla was released on November 10, 2020, it appeared on December 6, 2022 on Steam, a little over 2 years later. The game Far Cry 6, meanwhile, was released on October 7, 2021, so logic would dictate that it will be available around November 2023. Conclusion: A little patience :) I too am waiting for this title with a lot of hype.
Even if they release it on Steam you'll have to use their launcher, I don't see any difference tbh.
that article is heavily outdated and has invalid information, it was from back when ubisoft left steam for the epic store and it was before far cry 6 even came out, but in november ubisoft returned to steam because it was not making profits from epic, and it brought almost all of its big titles here apart from far cry 6 which is really strange
Having said that, I really would not hold out any hope of Ubisoft actually doing anything productive with these releases, like adding achievements, or setting up Steam cloud sync, or anything else requiring even a smidgen of effort on their part, but we can always hope.
