Another adult game rejected by Steam (Factorial Omega)
I'm disappointed but, sadly, not surprised.

Tweets from the developer

Regardless of your thoughts about having explicit games on the platform, I think we can agree that the rules should be applied evenly across the board. Judging by this situation and many others before it, that doesn't seem to be the case.

Same its fun, i love a good joke or two, and the issues and advancements from the forum discussions can be really good to the continued enjoyment of players.

we can only hope that steam sees the value in a free and lightly moderated forum that removes agressive and dangerous content, but allows players to freely speak and share opinions

Did Valve cave to the backlash, yet?

It appears they are unmoved if anything, I dont see an indy dev moving them any time soon either.

If there's any porn games that should be removed are those mass produced low effort garbage that get shoved in the store from time to time. But maybe that's just me.

"Even in a subtle way"

Posting here in regard to a Valve-to-Developer communication only meant for the 2 parties will not create any change.

I think I may of narrowed down the issue, while it may be wrong, I think I sorta noticed one of the issues. The robot in of itself honestly seems to be across the greyline, a note in the devs tweet shows how it says "If the person is in high school but is CLAIMED to be over the legal age-" which right there seems to be were the nail was struck (so to speak)

We may not know but its possible the developer said something akin to that very line, a note to have here is that the legal age part seems rather silly to even speak about due to the robot, but its to note that the way the valve reviewer said "If CLAIMED" which is a rather red light to me

Like I feel something said between the dev or reviewer was taken the wrong way, because the second to last line in the picture states that something may of been declared/claimed for the robot.

If we were to say...have the dev maybe in his request to greenlight the game, say "The robot is in the dystopia future but IS OF LEGAL AGE-" that right there would of been the only thing Valve needed to halt the game, that is a greyline area.

AGAIN HOWEVER I HAVE ZERO IDEA IF THIS IS THE ACTUAL REASON, I'M JUST PROVIDING MY 2 CENTS

this is almost the same time Mosaique Neko Waifus 5 has been taken down globally on steam because it "violated Steam terms and conditions"say by valve. this company sometime is so out of touch, could they tell us about they policy change before they change it? so the dev can save they time to make the game playable on some other place to sale the game and the player could spend they money buy the game which is not going to be on steam(THAT WE KNOW) somewhere else, this game dev spend so many time Setting steam page, making assets for store page, cloud saves, achievements so on and so for. The fundamental issue is that the criterion at issue, that is if the game comes too close to depicting sexual conduct involving a minor, is subjective. Because it's subjective, it can't be applied evenly. If you could apply it evenly, it'd be an objective rule.

I don't think there's any way around that. Sometimes games will get through that in your subjective opinion shouldn't have, and some are not going to get through that in your subjective opinion should have.

Agree that there should be consistency applied across the board. Consistency that results in none of these, frankly, questionable games being distributed.
