No Steam Remote Play Menu Appearing

As the title implies, whenever i try to launch steam remote play session with my friends, I don't get any kind of menu opening up to allow me to change their controller permissions or anything, which kinda sucks if you are trying to do a remote play session where both players are using different key bindings on the same keyboard (Example: Arrows shift and enter for P1, WASD ZX for P2). I've tried a couple different games now and none give me the option. I've tried re-installing steam, restarting my computer, re-installing the games, restarting my internet modem and router, disabling and re-enabling remote play together, and at this point I'm not even sure I am in the right spot to ask for help with this. Thanks in advance to anyone that tries to help!

i got the same problem, if you want to try another solution you can do this :
1. Go to STEAM button
2. go to Parameters
3. Go to account Button
4. click on steam beta update
5. change your mode to Steam Beta
6. it will restart your steam
7. Put your steam on BIG PICTURE MODE
8. go to the steam remote play game that you have
9. invite your friend via steam chat
10. it will appear from some seconds the remote play menu, you have to double click it to mantain there
11. put keyboard and mouse on the player
12. tell me if it works

Found the temporary solution:
1, Install the Steam Beta (Steam -> Settings -> Account -> Beta participation -> Steam Beta Update)
2, Enter Big Picture Mode
3, Start the game, Invite friend(s).
IMPORTANT: Their is a bug that makes the Remote Play Together menu (the keyboard/controller permission thing) to disappear completely when a chat window pop up). To avoid it, open the friends’ chat windows before inviting them.

Yeah, both above method works, you can also try to open notification in big pictures (guide+a for xbox controller) to show remoteplay invite and control assignment

Issue with the latest Steam update. Try above methods with beta patch or wait for fix.

Updated solution:

1. Open Steam in Big Picture mode
2. Start your Remote Play Together game
3. Take a screenshot in the game or ask your friend to send you a message
4. Shift+tab to open the Steam Overlay (in Big Picture mode)
5. Navigate to Home
6. Click on the screenshot notification (bell icon) located top right
7. Now you have the Quick Access menu opened
8. Navigate to Steam Remote Play Together tab
9. Invite your friend and give him mouse and keyboard access
10. Enjoy

The only way to bypass this awful bug is by using the Steam Big Picture mode Quick Access menu, which has the Steam Remote Play menu in it.
The Remote Play menu is nowhere else in the Big Picture mode.

By design, there is no way to open the Quick Access menu with your keyboard or mouse, only with a controller (Valve is not very smart).

Luckily the Steam Big Picture notifications are also only in the Quick Access menu and nowhere else.

So what you need to do is force yourself to recieve a notification while in the Big Picture mode, then use the Steam Big Picture mode to open the notification with your mouse.

Simplest way to recieve a notification is to take a screenshot ingame then navigate to Home in the Steam Big Picture mode and click the notification there.
That will open the Quick Access menu and allow you to see the Remote Play Together menu there.
