The bonus of the highest model is mainly the anti-glare screen. The issue is those are usually fuzzier than just a glass screen. You can also order the 512GB screen kit from iFixit which is officially from Valve.

If you don't want to do that but want the anti-glare, then yeah, it would be worth it.

I don't like how 'unsharp' it makes the images look. I have an iPad and used to have a paper-like screen protector and finally took it off after not being able to bear the slight fuzz it gave everything.

No it doesn't. Otherwise they wouldn't be selling them in the US.

Also, swapping the SSD won't affect performance unless it's a fake SSD.

Many first wave customers got one with the original SSD that was advertised.

No one said they made it themselves. The parts to manufacture the original SSD became hard to get so they switch to another one. It didn't violate any compliance. If it did, there wouldn't have been Decks with the originally advertised SSD in them.

It also isn't some crazy difficult task considering they are making plenty after the swap. An M.2 2230 SSD is only hard for the general consumer to find since they are usually only sold to manufacturers.
