New Big Picture Mode Not Opening on Startup
I created a fresh new build for a console set up this recently. When i go into settings I check Both Run Steam when my computer starts. And Start Steam in Big Picture Mode. I save the settings and when i reboot the PC it starts steam but Big Picture does not Launch. When I go back in to the settings, the box to check Start Steam in Big Picture Mode it unchecks itself. I check and save and reboot and it unchecks everytime.

So yesterday I went into steam properties and changed it to -oldbigpicture and it kind of worked. the box would stay checked but it would boot in to the New Big Picture mode. So I was okay with that. But then today I booted the the PC and it gave me the same problem again. Settings keeps unchecking the "Start Steam in Big Picture Mode" box.

Does anyone else have this problem, and does anyone know how to fix this? Any help would be appreciated.

I have the same problem.I wrote a letter to support, advised to enable beta testing mode, did not help.
Have you tried enabling "enable GPU accelerated rendering in web views" under settings > interface? I had the same problem and that fixed it for me.

Thank you, that kind of worked on one of my pcs, I already had GPU accelerated rendering enabled checked, when i unchecked it then it worked. The one that does it takes about 20-25 sec to launch after getting to the windows desktop. So it that normal with a ssd hdd? Seems kind of long since i have no other start up programs enabled other then Steam.

I fixed this! (I see people have different ways of fixing it but this is how i did it)
Step 1..
Go into "Task Manager" -> "Startup" and right click steam, "Disable"

Step 2..
Go to your steam directory and find the "steam.exe" file, right click and "Create shortcut"
Keep an eye on the shortcut, you will need to move it to a folder!

Step 3..
Click "Windows key" + "R" to start "Run" and type "shell:startup"
Drag the steam shortcut to the folder you're prompted called "Startup"

Step 4..
Go back to "Task Manager", steam should now be enabled again and you might have 2 instances of steam in the "Startup" tab, one "Disabled" and one "Enabled"
IF BOTH ARE ENABLED OR DISABLED, make sure one of them are Enabled, specifically the one that refers to the shortcut you made and moved to the "Startup" folder!

Step 5..
Reboot with the start in big picture mode option enabled
(i would restart steam to see if it works without a PC restart first to make sure the option works)

Tadaa!
If you encounter any issues, or people cant fix their problem with this, i might just make a video on how i did it or smth for clarity sake, I hope I helped! <3 :hp_kyu:
