I was banned on Lost ark by the developer, last played 22-05-2022?
I just received a permanent ban from lost ark developers today. I last touched the game in 22-05-2022 with a total of 3.8h played. They didn't say the reason.
I can't appeal to this on steam, steam help says I have to contact the developers? I dislike the game and want nothing to do with it or its developers, especially now.
Did something like this happen to anyone else? Is there any way I can remove this off of my profile?

edit: I found an article posted 2 hours ago, apparently I wasn't the only one. https://www.pcgamesn.com/lost-ark-online/steam-ban-inactive-players

edit2: ok so they did say they will remove the bans https://forums.playlostark.com/t/false-bans-following-january-bot-ban-waves/505020 , some other article said some bans already got removed, mine is sill there but it'll probably go away

Nothing to do with Steam Discussions. You will have to take it up with Amazon.

Lost Ark is owned and developed by Amazon, so you need to contact them.
Steam just acts as one way to access the game.

Game bans are issued by the game developers, so Steam Support is correct that you have to contact the game developers to appeal it. Only way to have it removed from the profile is by having the game developers revoke the game ban.

Edit: fixed some typos.

1: see above.
Not Steams problem and they can't help

2: disgusting what Amazon is doing if true. o:

I think this is a steam issue. They activated the "if developer bans you, we show the ban on your profile" feature for lost ark when the developer starts sending out random bans to random people for no reason.

There is no special activation that gets applied. All permanent game bans show on profiles, no exception.

If you want it removed from the profile, you will have to contact the game developers. As Steam support already stated towards you.

No, this is a developer issue, not Steam.

Anyway contact Amazon about your unjustified ban.

Playing Russian Roulette with your userbase sure sounds like a great business model. Oh wait, more like the South Park underpants gnomes:
1. Ban random users
2. ???
3. Profit

In short, your conspiracy theory doesn't hold water.
There's no conspiracy theory. They're deactivating inactive players in the dumbest way today.

The article mentions that people can contact amazon and it will be lifted if they're legitimate players.

People can also report the product on the Store Page if they believe there's malicious activity, and link to articles in regard to it, especially if they're accurate - in which they will likely investigate. If deemed they are doing malicious activity in terms of banning inactive accounts claiming they are all "cheating", the game could be removed from the store, and the Developer/Publisher could be banned from the store.

OP, you've all been told what to do.

If you were game banned in Lost Ark. Contact Amazon and you can appeal the ban - they're looking into the mass ban and some people have already been unbanned. Note, you have to actually appeal for now.

Its not a conspiracy theory. If you'd read the thread it's what's actually happening
