Cannot add friends anymore because says "i added so many friends" is normal?

Yes i have spent on last christmass and also 200 games.

you may have hit he friends limit - personally I see no reason to have more than 150 friends - read up on Dunbars' number . You may have people who are friends only for purpose of trading, steam needs to fix that.

I have only 4 friend and have added 10 friends. Also the limit not is 150 but depend on level.

yes, at certain levels the number does go up , but IMHO someone with a level 1 account should be allowed at least 150 friends , so you must be seeing something else the matter, or you have some kind of existing dispute with steam about something and your account, and thus has been limited? just guessing here really.

Dispute? I not received no warnings and also i payed regular the games.

Your tips is wait 24 hours and ask on steam support maybe?

You are not going to like the answer...

Stop sending requests. Everytime you do, it resets the cooldown.

The cooldown varies from 1 week up to 1 month "from the last time you saw the error message." Key point in quotes. This means if you saw the message today, you have to wait a full month before you can send another. Have them add you instead.

Read this post that explains a little bit of the new restriction...

The cooldown has many variables for when the account gets this message. No 1 account is the same in this matter. Some will get it after 1 invite, others 30.

Personally your opinion doesnt matter? Im glad you feel 150 friends is all anyone should ever have but nobody really asked for your opinion.

You just used Dunbars' numbers for steam 'friends'... You dont know why op needs to communicate with more than 150 people but because you think people dont need 150 friends you are discrediting op.

Yes about cooldown i know because is happen after remove a invite but during only one day and says "error". Is already a spam system about it.

Is weird cant add anymore friends after few request for 1 month. In that cases i never remind this cooldown after one month. Probably i have this issue forever. This is big issue hoping to remove this new feature in future. Specially because can have 1000 friends and cannot add more than 30 in one week.



Edit: Because i like to socialize without it i go in problems. In any cases thx for the info.

Wow, now everyone can read minds, it was a remark about friends versus trades, being poorly handled in Steam. Also if you read the book Dundar wrote you will also know that 150 is NOT the maximum. I still wonder why we have to have these homework conversations here so often. It's distracting, besides, he's dead, he died before the internet, hello.

Critical support tickets are normally responded to in 24 hours, I normally create every single ticket in the "the steam client is crashing" option, it gets them seen sooner. I am puzzled why they make choosing a ticket category so hard to do. Support will be busy handling tickets from the recent winter sale, so you may have to wait 48 hours. Be patient and be nice, if your ticket is angry, then the support techs will tend to bounce the ticket along. I know I was one. They have to deal with depressed people all day, whenever you make a ticket, be kind, it's never the support tech's fault, so remember that when making a ticket.

48 hours is what I would go with, which has already passed now, but don't edit the ticket whatever you do, as @csg-mcHotsause just noted.

That's computers for you. (The Steam cloud is really just someone else's computer, same problem, just someone else running the app.)

Yeah, you hit the limit if you send 10 friend requests within a single day or 30 within a single week. You'll just have to wait however long it takes for it to wear off which is probably going to be about a month.

There may be some variation for some people but that's what it is for most people now.

Were you adding these 10 friends at the same time? I mean in a quick order. If yes, that could trigger a cooldown.

Thx at all for the reply :) yes i not have counted but maybe 10 friends or few more in one day or week.

In any cases i waited only few days and already is unlocked the friend list for lucky.

But for me not have sense the lock for spam in different user invite(in facebook not have this limit i think). I understand the new account but the account old for 18 years not have sense. But whatever the lock is passed only for few days :) patience.
