yeah and the power draw has also exceeded battery storage improvements. Devices can store more power and devices USE far more power, and the components of battery packs have SKYROCKETED in price. So the overall gain in battery life is actually negative. Its the primary factor that drives electric car prices higher.
Oh, and you can game with it... If you care about that.
the other side of all this is does steam deck have a camera , any kinda inputs other then joystick an gyro, there are some things that today is a standard, i guess a great exmaple would be steam deck should have a camera for gesture control and things like that, eye tracking, stuff from the early 2000's that should be incorprated into the techlogy that makes it different an cool.
as a gamer we just expect things like this, also say i wanna blue tooth connect my wii fitness board to my steam deck can i do it? or my wii controller i want to be able to incorperate the hardware from my life into my devices
It has standard functions like bluetooth, no camera but as a PC it can support any USB peripheral just like a PC can. The steam deck is a laptop with a built in screen in a custom case.
You can't even do that on Windows without a good bit of tinkering with drivers or extra dongles. Again, you are showing you don't really know what the Deck is while trying to say what it is/isn't good for or what it can/can't be used for.
Yup, indeed it is a gaming laptop without a keyboard.
Which is... funny to say the least.
so its not the kinda device you can just turn off an then turn back on like a kid usally does. also the heavy wight would prob equal to kids droping it, its more along the lines of an adult portable that requires extensive computer software debugging know how.
also seems like alot of RMA happening, and the over all physical strength of the device is questionable as it can be easily droped an due to its weight breaks very easily, i droped my cellphone the first time i picked it up i think we all have done this.
ive had my controllers rumbble to the point they fell on the floor , lucky it didn't break to badly.
i can just see something leaving a steam deck on the table, and leaving rumble on while its playing an coming back to a steam deck on the floor. rumble btw will eat up your battery as well.
These issues are rare and 9/10 are caused by people customizing or adding programs not through the Steam client.
It literally is a device you can "turn off and then turn back on". The worst issue I've run into with the game suspending is the audio cracking. Which just takes quitting and re-launching the game. It also isn't heavy at all unless you're giving it to like a 4 year old.
People focus more on the negative than the positive. When people get a product they are happy with, they will most likely not go around praising that product everywhere. If they are unhappy with it, they will most likely publicize their displeasure to anyone and everyone who will listen. You're also looking at a forum specifically for bugs or issues with the Deck.
Again, it isn't heavy. It's just under double the weight of the Switch which isn't heavy to begin with. It's an electronic device. Dropping it from 3ft will damage it like most electronic devices that are specifically made to be dropped. There are also tons of cases that have been made you can buy.
You can turn off the rumble completely. There also aren't really any games that constantly rumble. As well as the actually rumble motors not being near strong enough to move the deck like a cellphone.
Nothing you've said about the Deck has been true. It's really showing that the research you claimed to have done either is a lie or just scanning the forums for an hour or so.
Not really, its a small form factor PC, pretty standard to not have a keyboard on those as it supports external ones, and it has a virtual keyboard you can use. A keyboard takes up more space, increasing the size and reduces the portability.
The other similar devices that are coming out soon or are already out are similar for the most part in not having a keyboard too such as the
AYANEO 2
AYN Loki
RETROID POCKET 3
etc
Only the GPD Win 4 has a keyboard out of all the others afaik and it STARTS at $799 and goes up to $1200...
just read the reviews my god the steam deck forum basicly answers all the questions , and for what its worth its the same 6 people on this thread all trying to hype up steam deck, are you really the only 6 people on the whole steam forum interested in seeing steam deck succeed if so that tells you something about the real amount of people buying steam deck
im here asking questions putting in opinions about it, i don't even own a steam deck and show more interest. gosh this is unsettling.
actually you know what never mind, all of you are rocking over 500 games owned on steam, many of you have over 1000, if steam deck is only for people that have 1000's of games an wanna dish out 100's of dollars for a portable, then keep steam deck for yourself.
im a free game player i enjoy a few paid for titles but with the mass amount of free gaming offered today i see no point in paying 1000's of dollars for hardware or software. best of luck on the steam deck thing every single one of you seems like they spent a small fortune on steam accounts.
That's a lot to just say you really didn't research what the Steam Deck is. You aren't 'just putting opinions out'. You're saying what the Deck is and what it isn't without any real research into the product. You then use a forum that has a specific place for bug and issues as some guage on the device being just riddled with problems.
im gonna be honest i am not going to the beach to play on a steam deck, what in the world is this story, you had your steam deck in some body armor case and left it on the roof, this story is as bad as my friends putting a laptop under a car wheel, then driving over it in atlantic city parking lot at the borgota, how can you people seriously do these things lol
steam already lost the casual gamer with a $400 dollar price tag , also steam needs to fix its buggy "you posted to many times bug on the forum complete nonsense".
You do realize every thread made doesn't mean there is an actual bug or issue correct?
People were making bug threads because they couldn't play on their Deck while having a game running on their PC. Each thread does not represent a bug, especially when people don't search and create duplicates.
