External gpu and cpu dock for steam deck
Valve can you please make a External gpu and cpu dock for steam deck that will allow us to dock the console and get better graphics and higher frame rates while at home.

Uhm, like a PC?

Maybe you could get Nvidia to create a custom gpu and amd to create a custom cpu for the docking station to make it compact but also powerful

Well basically a pc but it would be more of a docking station specifically designed for the steam deck to increase performance

This would be more for when your at home so you can play with ultra graphics in 4k hdr or at least increase performance hopefully enough to compete with Xbox one x. And then still game handheld on the go.

Yeah but it’s still a handheld

It would be like all 3 in one
so... like a pc in a bag that you can hang over your shoulder....

External GPU solutions are known to have issues, primarily with compatibility. Not sure how well linux would support external use of a GPU as well.

Basically, if you want the performance of a gaming PC, then build a gaming PC.

External cpu part is kind of funny, never heard of that one before :claptrap:. Seriously at that point just build a strong gaming pc. If the CPU + GPU isn't good enough for what you want then the deck isn't a suitable choice, and rather than throw money at external parts & their enclosures; a pc case with a full build would be more cost efficient.

Do you actually read what you type or do you hammer away at the keyboard randomly? You are contradicting yourself really hard.

That would be a complete waste of their time. That idea is beyond dumb.

Most people doing egpus seem to be using the SSD slot to connect to it. My guess is that the usb-c isn't thunderbot capable so they can't seem to drive the GPU via that. In any case it makes little sense for Valve to make an external gpu dock fo rthe steamdeck given that, well, you know its a portable machine? If you need a mATX PC you can just buy that yourself instead?
