So my uploaded screenshots of a naughty 18+ game got removed for violating community guidelines ...
But its an 18+ game available on steam and the community screenshots already contain fully graphic screenshots uploaded by other users.

I believe I got targeted by a homophobic moderator.

Only User Generated Content gets scrutinized for bans. Games with the foulest content can exist(I'd prefer they not) and can have porn profile pics, mini-backgrounds, backgrounds, emotes and stickers, but take one screenshot and put it on steam and you're the one in trouble. I think you can hide them by marking them as spoilers but that doesn't stop anyone who is hunting down such content to either(or both) enjoy it and then report it themselves.

Yea yet the community profile for the game is full of nude screenshots.

Also you can only view them if you have flagged your account as 18+ and selected the option to have such content visible.

Steam Support handles reported screenshots.

If you have issue with their decision, contact support.

I have tried and asked why its ok for other users to upload the same screenshots but it wasn't for me.

Don't ask about other users. Keep the questions about your own content on your account.

Well I finally took a look. Not my cup of tea. Those should probably all be marked as spoilers. To be safe though find a website that will host such images and put the link to your account for that website on steam(if you still want other steam users to get to it). A good model to follow is how the Hentai groups share but stay safe on steam.

I mean I didn't ask about other users specifically, I pointed out that the uploaded community screenshots on the game's page already contain the same screenshots from many users, and wanted to know why only mine were removed.

More likely someone saw yours and reported it. That is why your was removed. Report the other screenshots that you say are the same as yours.

Did you enable that filter for NSFW whatever? Its a spoiler filter. If its really graphic you are expected to use it. I know its a bit silly in the context of a sex game but its how its expected to be done.

Valve manually review all such items before a developer is allowed to publish them. They don't allow porn in any such items and do often tell developers that they have to alter them. At which time the altered version is also manually reviewed.

As for user generated content, the old adage always ring true: just because other people aren't reported it doesn't mean you won't be. As far as the OP goes, he posted on this forum that he thought such content was acceptable. It stands to reason that people on this forum then reported such content to test his claim. He can attempt to play the homophobia card all he wants, but that has nothing to do with people reporting content they consider inappropriate.

More likely someone saw yours and reported it. That is way your was removed. Report the other screenshots that you say are the same as yours.

But you can only see them if you choose to?

So when uploading theres meant to be a nsfw filter? I never noticed that, but can't check as I'm temporarily not allowed to upload screenshots.

Erm, there are literally hundreds of pornographic games on steam, and you have to consent before being able to view them or the screenshots.

Yeah, to enable it you have to give it the spoiler tag. You got the option in the image's detail.

I cannot guarantee you 100% anything. Im not a Steam employee but to my understanding. Doing that alone should reduce the risk for you to get those bans.

I don't think thats necessarily a nsfw issue.

You have options to disable all such content on your account preferences if you don't want to see it:

MATURE CONTENT FILTERING
Include products in my Store & Community that contain the following types of content.
These products may appear on Steam Community in certain places, but their content will be blurred out.

General Mature Content

Tick this box if you are okay with seeing games that are intended for mature audiences. These games may have content or themes not appropriate for all audiences such as such as graphic violence, frequent nudity, sexual content, and other mature topics.

Frequent Violence or Gore
Tick this box if you are okay with seeing games that contain frequent violence or gory content.

Nudity or Sexual Content
Tick this box if you are okay with seeing games that contain some nudity or sexual content.
View Example Products

Adult Only Sexual Content
Tick this box if you are okay seeing games that contain sexual content that is explicit or graphic and is intended for adults only. By ticking this box you affirm that you are at least eighteen years old.

Note that it says 'store and community', so that would indicate such content is allowed in the community?

Yes, but, for example, not every "mature and gory games" contains full outright sex. So if you post a pic of people having a LOT OF FUN in let's say... Metro Exodus? whatever just an example. Then it might get moderated. This is kind of a grey zone where using your head and posting everything in a way that is considerate for others is a good idea.

The reality is, if we are going to play the rule game, the general guidelines forbid porn content posted by users. And those superseeds everything else. But, its kind of an agreed "silent" agreement that nobody cares about porn art in a porn game. Because its not disruptive at all. But, better still put that NSFW thing on. Better safe than sorry.

Plus, no harm done, having a spoiler tag over that kind of stuff is free publicity. XD
