I don't get notification sounds from my friends when either of us are set to invisible anymore. No notifications in phone app either??

What gives & why doesn't the phone app not give ANY chat notifications anymore either.

You have to use the Chat app for the friends and chat features on mobile.

As for the PC client, turn off and back on all the settings in the chat settings.

I'm not on DND and I know all the settings are correct but it still refuses to play the notification sounds or show popups when i get messages but i get them when people come online even though I'm literally looking at my notification settings and its set to play the sound and give a popup when I'm directly messaged.

My best guess is it has something to do with people in Invisible mode but it wasn't always like this. I think an update broke something.

I have the right chat app on phone and it's the same deal no push notifications when DM'd despite the settings being correct.

Edit: Also I checked volume mixer as well and no dice that isn't the issue either.

I've been invisible since the mobile app beta for the new UI was released on late August. I've had no issues getting notifications and sounds on the PC and app.

Other users had issues a week ago and said turning off and back on the settings fixed it for them.

I just tried it and nothing. I even have a second device and account to test messages with and I get the popup now but no sound, I've even checked the .wav file in the steam file folder and its there and I opened it in an audio app and I hear it then of course because it's playing it like a music track but through the steam application itself never.

I just tested it and it works once I set myself to online and ONLY then. The moment I turn it back to invisible I don't get the sound anymore.

I'm testing it with a second account.

DND isn't checked, the notification settings are correct, and the volume settings are correct. It's like steam thinks I'm in DND mode once I set myself to invisible.
