friends list on over lay keeps freezing

hey everyone need some help here my friends list on the steam overlay keeps freezing when i open the menu to invite or join a game i can click everything else i can even close to get back in the game it just wont let me use the friends list or menu as soon as i open the menu to invite or join a game any suggestions would be helpful thanks

Same issue here, when i right clic on a contact, i can't close the menu by left clic in other place
The opened menu stay here, and block any other action.
Tried to restart comp, and same issue

Same issue for me. It only started a few hours ago. I am unable to join games through the friends list using 2 different steam accounts and computers. I re-installed the games, restarted steam, checked and un-checked remote play, checked my firewall... nothing is working. I did nothing other than to try to remote play unrailed.

If you tested in 2 differents comp with 2 differents accounts and tried fresh reinstall, then it means that this bug which affects only some users like us can be fixed only by steam support.

Try making your friends list wider in the steam overlay. I don't know how much wider it needs to get, but I saw somewhere someone saying how they did that, and it no longer kept freezing when you clicked on it in the steam overlay.

In fact, it works well when i'm on desktop, but not as well during game.
Cheap fix tbh, i hope steam will correct this

So it isn't just mac users having this problem? Huh, maybe it was the newest update that happened. really hope they fix it cause it is really annoying. I have restarted steam 5 times and even did my computer, nada.
