Steam Friend list Overlay

Whenever i opened the steam friends list, it keeps freezing and idk what to do

Hey heads up, I'm getting the same issue. I posted a thread in 'Helps and Tips'

Just letting you know, you're not alone on this!
Mine is a bit better but not by too much. If I right click on any friends while in the overlay, then it completely freezes, and only from the friendlist menu in the overlay

For problems with the overlay, disable HW acceleration with web views & restart Steam.

My issue is I keep logging out of friends even though I have internet connection. Every time I exit a game I have to appear online

Same issue here (and this glitch is really annoying) :
- if i right clic on a friend name while not beeing in game, it opens a menu that will be closed only if i select an option (see the profil, look at the game store, etc). Otherwise, another clic won't close it as it should be,
- if i right clic on a friend name while beeing in game (via steam overlay), it will freeze all friend list option. There is no other solution then closing the game and open a new chat,

Please note that :
- I curiously oberved that everything is normal if i right clic on a contact name within a Group Chat (in game via steam overlay, or not in game),
- I tried to restart steam and my comp many times and ofc it doesn't change anything :)

Let's wait a bit to see if steam will fix this issue in a future update.
If not, i would suggest a clean remove and reinstallation of steam,
If issue still here, no other choice then OS restore.

I made a report about the issue and the staff just said blah blah go to this link to see what's the deal and It just seems a pain in the butt trying which solution applies to this.

In another topic there is a user who said that he tried to reinstall steam and tested in 2 differents comp and the issue is still here. Probably a glitch linked to our accounts for any reason

Try to make your friends list larger, it will fix the problem (don't ask me why lol).
I have read this in antoher topic and it fixed the problem for me, i hope for you too

Also what do you mean by this? add more friends or make the tab bigger?
