Refund abusing? Will i get my ability to refund revoked?
Ive been refunding multiple games, all of them were on sale. Here are the games and reasons.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R Call of Pripyat
"i have found a better free version (refering to S.T.A.L.K.E.R Anomaly) so i will refund this game."
Choo Choo Charles
"My little brother wanted to play this game but he was too scared to even get passed 30 minutes, (lmao) he said he wont play anymore so im going to refund this game."
Prison Simulator
"couldnt be a prisoner, i wanted a 3D escapist's type game so ill refund this one and keep looking."
theHunter: Call of the wild
cant exactly remember this one but i said something about animal cruelty (joke) even though im not vegan and dont care about slaughtering animals.
These were all in quick succession (2 games refunded per day and its been 1 week)
I'm just wondering if i keep refunding these games like im demoing them, ill get my privlidge of refunding games taken from me.

You'll get warning before having your ability to refund revoked.

As bloodshed said you will get a warning. How soon depends on a couple of factors that vary from account to account (past history of the account is one). But yes, if you continue to use the refund system as you indicate here, Steam will revoke your ability to refund any game permanently.

Once again, the refund system is there as a safety net for people who buy games that end up not functioning correctly, or at all, on their systems. It is not there as a substitute for demoing games and is not there as a buyer's remorse get out of jail free card. You are abusing the policy and you will eventually get slapped for it if you continue to do so.

you know you could just watch others play games see if u like them or not, or if it has a demo play the demo, but yes you will eventually get revoked for it

Your reasons for refunding are meaningless. Many developers won't even read them these days. And Valve certainly aren't taking them into account when deciding if you're abusing their system or not. But if you've done all those in a relatively short time without keeping as many purchases, you're probably only a refund request or two away from your first warning.

Yes, if you keep doing this frequently, chances are eventually you will be warned, and then have refund privileges removed.

Check reviews and YouTube videos first if you are interested in the game.

at one point they will just refuse your refund. with probably a worded advisory to stop abusing it

my advice. either do not buy a game just to refund it or buy elsewhere for the time being.

just remember 3rd party keys cant be refunded via steam

If you keep refunding like you do you'll get warned and then have it taken away, refunding isn't a way to try out games, if you Want basic info watch a review on YouTube

I've only gotten a refund warning once and since then I've been super careful only buying the games I researched thoroughly or some fun looking cheap indie stuff that I can easily tank a loss of $1-5. As far as I know, you can get a permanent refund ban after a warning if you continue "abusing" the system.

It is important to do research on video games before buy it. It is not reasonable to buy and play then request a refund.

Research does not show you how the game feels to play or how well it may or may not run on your specific setup.

There are plenty of reasonable reasons to refund a game after playing.

And yet, every store, physical included will take measures against 'customers' refunding a larger percentage of their purchases. Doing research can help to keep refunds to a minimum.

... except it does. There's good reviews out there, talking about the feel of the game.

As for how it may run on your specific setup, compare your stuff vs. the requirements. You don't even have to do it yourself, sites like Userbenchmark will compare yours to others.
