Unable to enter offline mode anymore for some reason

Hi,

I have an unstable internet connection and I usually play my games in offline mode. The past few days or so though, when I got to log in and the window pops up asking "Enter Offline Mode?" clicking the button for offline mode doesn't do anything at all and that pop up just remains there indefinitely (unless I "x" out of it).

So I know it sounds weird but this is something I used to do everyday and now it doesn't seem to work offline at all. Any ideas?

Same situation, same problem and started in the past week as well.

I have gotten around it by launching steam in online mode, changing to offline mode and then launching the game from there. I cannot use my normal shortcuts to launch any games. It defeats the purpose but it works for now (or until the next storm.) Probably going to be an uninstall/reinstall thing but we can hope for a better answer.

I had to get it online first, then unplugged my ethernet cable. Afterwards I just leave the client running while putting the laptop in sleep mode. The next time I go to play it doesn't ask for my name / password and I can play stuff offline afterwards.

I suppose if I had to shut the thing off totally or restart it or whatever it wouldn't work offline until I go online for another initial time and do it all again.

Kind of sucks, but maybe it'll help you guys too.

E same issue here but for me I have no internet cause my provider is down at the moment due to some hacker yesterday hacking the internet providers network site where you pay and stuff like any other internet provider, RIP. Also the button must be just broken in general and steam devs haven't realized it yet because when I hover over retry it acts like I'm clicking onto a link but for "enter offline mode" it doesn't and when I click it, it does absolutely nothing.
