Some simple questions for the steam deck giveaway

Hi guys,

I have some simple question regarding the giveaway.
Maybe some questions can't be answered, but that ok.

1.: It says it must be watched on steam, do people (since I know I'm not the only one) need to download something in order to watch it?
I'm using the desktop app, but saw some people talk about some "Steam TV" which i can't find in the shop.

2.:Does anyone know if you have to "accept" something immediatly if steam draws your name?
The reason for asking is: I live in germany and the awards start at 1:30AM on the 9th.
I would wake up 5 minutes before, start the stream, turn off my monitor and go back to bed for a few hours until I have to start work.
Or would I "miss" my chance?

1. Web sites are a thing. Take your browser, watch on the Steam TV web site.
2. You don't have to accept immediately. If you had, that would be noted somewhere. Since nothing is noted, expect the standard procedure.

Speaking of "standard procedure", have you read the rules yet? Those answer this question, as well as others.

Regarding the "where to watch": I was just a bit confused, since the announcement said "watch it here on steam" without mentioning a link or anything, that's why I asked

The Giveaway Broadcast will be accessible on the Steam website https://store.steampowered.com/sale/thegameawards2022 and on SteamTV https://steam.tv/ .

First link can be used in the client, mobile app and browsers.

Second link is the alternative link for browsers.

That's when the servers get hammered and fails to parse the username and reverts back to the community ID number.

I mean it wouldn't supersize me is they re run the show but the giveaways wont count after the initial showing.

I feel like because stream is failing to load I won't be eligable anyway very sad I never win squat.

100 to 200k users in, that's roughly 1/200k or 1/100k. Or like 0.0010% to 0.0005%
