Steam Deck Giveaway
I have signed up to the Steam Deck Giveaway on Steam for the Steam Game Awards. However, I have noticed that it will start at 00:30 GMT, when I should be sleeping, ready for work in 7 hours. Is there any chance I can possibly win a Steam Deck if I'm not there for the live event?

Thanks

No, you have to actually watch the live stream. Well, at least your computer has to.

I know it hasn't actually started but do you know how we would even win it when watching the stream? Don't worry if you or no one else knows.

Valve hasn't said that. It's most likely they'll send you a mail to the email account associated with your Steam account.

Thanks. I will see if Valve releases any more info, but I might have an idea of how I could possibly win, only if I don't need to automatically click anything when watching.

Thanks for your help.

Also, the chance of you winning a Steam Deck is about as high as winning the lottery.
There will be millions of people signing up for it and only about 150 or so Steam Decks to giveaway.
Its not impossible but still very unlikely that you win one.

It's just like any other game gift. You get an email and a new gift notification in Steam if you won anything.

You'll still have the standard 30 days to redeem it too.

My last purchase was in July 2021. So I can’t take part in the giveaway? Is that correct?

It's a 3 hour long stream. They do more than awards like, showing trailers for upcoming games.

AFAIK you don't need to watch it on a computer, you can also "watch" it on a phone so you can be anywhere, I guess?
