and really sorry about this but i followed that link and they seem to have changed their answers and now its all restricted ._.
So lets say, your Steam store uses Dollars, then you can use any Steam Wallet cards with Dollar values, even if your store is not in the USA.
If your store has a regional currency on Steam ( lets say Russian Ruble) you only can activate Steam Wallet cards that have that currency on it.
That sucks...
To clarify it a bit, there are still SOME store countries you can activate wallet cards with other currencies in.
For example, you can still activate Euro or Dollar wallet cards in the India Steam store.
But a lot of stores are now restricted, mainly the ones in which games cost a lot less then the international average. Argentina, Russia and so on.
Those store regions only accept wallet cards in their own currency.
So wait, does that mean if I have an American account, I can buy a gift card with Euros as the main currency and it would work? Or am I misreading that? Just wanting to make sure before I go buying one and then realizing it doesn't work.
This thread is nearly 5 years old but things have changed recently.
But can a friend from EU send a gift card through steam to me? Will the EUR be converted into my currency in Argentina?
