VR may be helping to ease depression and anxiety conditions?
I don't know if this is the right spot to make this topic! I am really sorry!
I've been reading articles lately on VR helping to possibly help treat symptoms like Depression and Anxiety. Is there anyone that uses an Oculus or the HTC Vive who have the above symptoms using VR to help that may notice a difference? Sorry again if this is the wrong place to post!

Have you read of any information on the type of VR headset used. I am looking at Vive but damn that's not available in the UK and it costs £700+

Are there any perticular apps geared towards the conditions for helping?

I'm afraid it would work more as a refuge than a treatment, unless properly integrated into a larger treatment program.

idk about apps but doctors can use the person info to made small game for that person to go back in time in the plance and like that they can fix some of the problem however it is not 100% true .

VR is kinda new thing and some doctors like old style and they dont use it right now .

What if your problem was a social one, then maybe using VR in a 3-D world where you can speak to other people with voice could help that problem would you think?

It would be more about the software probably, rather than the hardware, so you would need games designed for that in mind. What kind of games could treat anxienty and depression. What kind of games could make it worse. There are different things to consider. There is a lot of potential but I don't think we're there yet. Research will need to be done, and talented people in their fields to bring the methods and concepts together in a well designed high graphics virtual world.

Applications like Second Life for example where your basicly in a massive online world where you can speak to people and interact. It's a sandbox enviroment.

lol wow actually i want to have some feeling of it that is going to be fun and scary . let make it a tower like 80 floor .

I suppose if they actually do make a decent feedback system you could simulate the feeling of the drop. Might be of use as some kind of aversion therapy... or as a safer option for cliff divers.

Not quite bumping off a bridge... But

Now seriously. I can totally see how immersing a person on a customisable and controlled enviroment could help treat some conditions. I'm sure it's a venue already being considered.
