Problem With Controller in 2K23

Hello Steam folks, hopefully you can help me.

I have been playing Golf games forever, the last game was 2K21 and the first time I have used an Xbox Controller. I was a 3 click player before. Love playing with the controller and want to stay that way.

I have 817 hours playing 2K21 with zero issues with the controller.

I purchased 2K23 (the mid version of the game, not the basic or the most expensive one) and discovered there were problems with the Controller when playing 2K23.

At first I couldn’t adjust for the wind, fade or draw the ball. I have climbed through all the settings numerous times and can’t figure it out.

So . . . I reset my Controller setting in 2K23 and tried again. Now, not only can’t I adjust for the wind, fade or draw, but I can no longer adjust the landing (or putt) left or right.

The odd thing is . . . 2K21 works just fine with zero issues controlling any shots.

I have reviewed my Steam settings, they are fine, the settings in 2K21 are fine, the settings in 2K23 are fine as well. Still no joy playing 2K23, all I can do is hit the ball and hope for the best. Putting is not possible. I will multi, multi, multi-Bogy ever hole as I can’t move left or right to aim and hit the ball now.

Is there some glitch in 2K23 that you folks know of?

I have a VERY high-end system, so that is not a problem. And, like I said 2K21 plays just fine!

Try this, visit Steam library, right click on 2k23 game, click properties, click on controller, set drop down menu to disable Steam input, press ok.

Launch game and see if things resolved. If it did then means the game fighting Steam overlay for controller, that why disable it to let the game run it own controller driver.
