Will my achievements and hours transfer?

I have a silly and strange question.

A few years ago, I bought GTA 5 in the boxed version (i.e. Rockstar Games Launcher edition). There I have almost all the achievements and nearly 1,300 hours.

Since I became a fan of chasing achievements in games on Steam (however that sounds) I prefer to have every game on Steam to show hours, achievements and screenshots.

My question is, when I buy GTA 5 on Steam and assign it to my current Rockstar Games account during the first launch, will the achievements and hours transfer to Steam?

It is game/achievement dependent. Some achievements may transfer over right away when you start your game with the save file, some may trigger only when achievement unlocks when played. How GTA 5 will handle it, I don't know. You might want to take it to the games forum.

Hours will not. That's a Steam thing in your library. Achievements I know for a fact won't go from Steam to Rockstar so it's unlikely it would work in reverse.
