xyz domains blocked?

Recently my sites all became blocked by steam. When using the steam login the "this may be a scam site blah blah blah" warning pops up. This really confused me as they'd been running for 2 or so years and I'd not changed the code much. Took a lot of debugging/investigating but I noticed that all♥♥♥♥ domains are blocked. I tested a handful (even google's owned abc) and they all seem blocked. Has there been a change that I've missed? Or is this an unintended side effect of a change?

Spammers have been abusing the domain to scam users. Given xyz is now predominantly the domain of just scammers the entire TLD is blocked

The .me domain is blocked too now. This is bad. Two well-known Steam achievement tracker sites are now blocked. www[dot]completionist.me and www[dot]metagamerscore.com

.me domains are not free nor cheap - i have yet to find out why the whole of montenegro's tld was blocked.
related to that: the automatic url parsing of .me domains wasn't working before either.
can only hope this was a mistake - the damage to the image of my site was certainly done.

this is not good, some definitely are malicious but there's stuff like Steam achievement tracker sites (as Rudey mentioned) that are blocked and shouldn't be :( hope this gets worked out for those good sites.

Ye, it does sure suck. But I can understand steams "all or nothing" approach to this. One can only hope that they come up with something.

Popular review site metacritic website also gets link filter. If you type like this www(dot)metacritic(dot)com
also with https:// on front
