how do I stop pop-up in lower right corner

While I have the steam launcher active, but not while playing a game, sometimes a pop-up will appear in lower right corner. It is usually something about an update to a game, or about a game that has gone on sale or something related to steam. I have no idea how to turn it off. Anyone able to help me figure out what is happening and stop it.

Open friends list window.

Go to "Notifications."

Uncheck the 5th option.

ahhh, thanks, hopefully that will work, but it was not something I even looked at, didn't expect it to be under friends.
