Suggestions to remove Jester award

So, I know it is used to call someone else as a "clown", which is aggressive/malicious. But due to its point awarding nature, it could just give free points against users who spreading misinformation or negative feedback (like racist stuffs, joking the game without completely understand it), overall encouraging such act instead.

Moreover, people who understand this case that players are willing to pay precious points to mock others will just create bait posts to create controversies, this won't help to create a positive and helpful community but instead inspire others to keep the flame go on for the "awards".

Now if you excuse me, I am going to lock this thing down so it won't be marked as a jester award baiting post.

You're not entirely wrong but also, the jester award isn't supposed to be used for hate/misleading information. No post is supposed to have that. That seems more like a Valve moderation staff issue than an award issue, but maybe that's just me.

Let me try rewording that. The Jester Award isn't a free card to be hateful, insulting, or to purposefully deceive/mislead with malicious intent. If this is happening, then it's the Valve moderation team (or the game's moderation team, I think the sub-forums go to them as far as moderation?) that has a problem. Not the Jester Award.

I am against removing jester, but you bring a good point of rewarding misinformation.

Steam should definitely remove the point awards from this particular reward and others which are used to downplay b ad takes.

I don't want the award removed though, it has a purpose. For me removing the rewarding of steam points is enough.

Maybe only certain rewards should award points? Like the clap award, the brain award, and so on.

No way man, I got someone tryina rustle my jimmies by posting jesters on all my posts/reviews/screenshots they can find. They blown like 20k points on me, and I keep getting mad points every week.
