So to sum it up, I DON'T WANT PORN ADVERTISED TO ME. ESPECIALLY PORN OF CHILDREN. Is that so much to ask?! What the ACTUAL ♥♥♥♥ Steam...
If you're a degenerate borderline pedo and want to defend Steam I'm sincerely not interested in hearing it so save your breath.
Alright, so, let's say I leave my computer open and a friend or my girlfriend starts looking through my Steam. They don't know what they're doing necessarily, but Steam is often left open on my computer. All they'd have to do is click on Store, and then they would see a bunch of that nonsense being advertised to me. They would then think there's a *reason* that Steam is advertising that sort of content to me. That's typically how advertisements work these days, right? They focus advertisements on people that want the products that the advertisements are promoting.
That said, sure, if someone tech savvy and familiar with Steam was to look through my account they would probably understand that it's not associated with me-- but again, they might assume that it's being promoted to my account for a reason.
Yes, I'm obviously a boomer simply because I'm against child porn being advertised to me on a videogame platform. Cool stuff. I mean I'm no Zoomer but I'm pretty far from a Boomer. You don't need to be elderly to have moral standards.
All this ranting instead of turning back off the setting you had to turn on to see the content in the first place.
Cool, so you're illiterate? I guess I shouldn't expect much from the people defending pedophilia. Clearly you lot aren't operating with a full deck of cards.
Ironic.
Ad hominem and false dilemma do not a good argument make.

As history tells us, someone is definitely going to be at Anime Expo cosplaying as a furry this year
Yeah that's the risk of having one of Epsteins friends as a profile picture
You sir just won the internet!
Have some points!
That's why I'm complaining. I have not bought or played games similar to those. I've been seeing them promoted for awhile now and I've never even clicked on them. It's *weird* that those games are even on the platform in my opinion, but actively advertising them? Why?
I'll totally acknowledge I was pissed the hell off and hurling ad hominems around, but it's not really a false dilemma. It's something that's happening, and again, I really hate that there's an actual debate on whether depictions of what definitely appear to be underage girls in sexual acts is an acceptable form of content to be hosted on a videogame platform... It's happening though, and someone being outraged that pedophile adjacent content is being shared should be a *normal* thing. I'll admit I lost my cool, and said a lot of unnecessary things, but in my eyes if there's any topic that's acceptable to lose your cool over it's the exploitation of children-- and obviously that's not happening by "artistic" depictions, but it's part of a very strange culture that arguably normalises it. That's happening in our society, they're "MAPs" now and not pedophiles, and Steam seems to be happy profiting off of it. I just hope the FBI gets the full names and addresses of everyone who buys that stuff. But yes, you're right, getting angry and shouting at people won't change minds. I just think it's unfortunate that I need to attempt to change anyones mind on this subject.
And to the people highlighting my profile picture, Epstein is a bad guy right, and this is Epstein adjacent content that I'm complaining about. So like, regardless of profile pictures and politics, isn't this something we should all be able to agree on? These "game developers" basically drew pictures of what was probably going on at Epsteins island and that's the "content" that I'm complaining about lol... How is this contentious? Call me a prick, call me a boomer, call me grandpa-- but can't we all agree that this sort of thing is at least *weird*...?
I apologize for acting crazy. Being sane in this world is becoming increasingly difficult.
