Weekend starts at thursday for Valve?
I already noticed last week that weekend deals and free weekends start before the actual weekend begins. It may vary from time zone to time zone, but I'm in Germany, it's 11:08pm at thursday and I already see the weekend deals. I don't bother with it, I just think it's strange that they start the weekend stuff in the middle of the week and not on Friday.

MERICA

You see, Valve is an AMERICAN company, and they do stuff according to AMERICAN time.
Individual timezones for sales will not happen.

Its to allow people to download the games before the weekend.

It's been like that for as long as I can remember. Monday-Week long deals, Tuesday through thursday mid week madness, Thursday-Monday Weekend sale (all days are 10 a.m. Pacific/Valve time).

Steam even runs on US/Pacific time. While "the weekend" starts at Thursday 7pm for us, it starts at Thursday 10am for them :-) So it's even earlier.

It's the same with "midweek". Sure, "midweek" isn't such a clearly defined term, but it runs for multiple days as well.

Also, why should that be a problem? So they make sales a little longer than what the name says. Heck, they extended "daily" deals from 24h to run for 48h at some point.
