It seems odd, has zombie survival stuff really been this popular for over two decades?
its really just rehashed over and over again but people still love it? I cant turn on steam without being shown eight new call of something to preorder or some genocide simulator game for 20 bucks. maybe this is because i live in the country or maybe because I clicked a couple of times when it POSSIBLY looked interesting (turned out it was rehashed stuff anyhow), its not bad if thats your thing, im just suprised that its so damn popular, I thought most people more or less grew out of it like I did. maybe the largest audience for games is no longer men in mid to late 30s anymore lol
In an not-so ideal world, the industry produces what can be done for the lowest possible cost with a profit margain that will make the comnpany and the shareholders most happy. This is the world we are living in.
So whatever the industry produces, it doesn't say so much about the industry but more about us - the gamers.
If there comes a point where the industry provides 1% of overpriced hyped games and 99% cheap formulatic crap, then congratulations - it's our fault.
And I'm not being sarcastic.
The reason that TV-shows have reached a height of creativity, boldness and production value that is unparalleled in history while computer games are at a point of stagnation is not, that the TV-industry hired all the intelligent people and the gaming industry got all the dumbasses left.
It's just that gamers have become dumbasses playing every crap they get served, while the TV audience is not willing to waste their time unless the product is really good.
