And if you know how to buy and download Steamgames, the Epic Games Store is no different in that regard.
I know that it should be easy. The problem is that I'm on the Steam Deck. I heard people say the game doesn't work with any protons and you have to write some text in the desktop mode. As a console gamer new to PC gaming in the last 6 months I have no confidence in my self to make it work right.
Every other Squeenix game that was Epic exclusive has come to Steam, and going forward Square seems to have reaffirmed a good business relationship with Steam while mostly skipping Epic. This is telling as it suggests that the exclusivity agreement wasn't as lucrative as Square and Epic had hoped, while Steam is very well patronized, more reliable, established, and still growing.
Nobody but Epic and Square knows the terms of the KH exclusivity agreement, but once it runs out it will march happily over to Steam. (Probably at too high of a price, but that's a different story.)
It does give me hope that Final Fantasy 7 came to Steam. It makes me think the Epic deals may not be too long. I don't even mind if it was full price, because I would probably just buy KH 1.5 + 2.5 and wait for the rest to go on sale. KH2 is my favorite game!
I do hope they take away the always online requirement though.
I was surprised seeing ffviir and twewy neo come to steam, so that is encouraging.
They aren't hurting for money. They just wanted the option that paid the most.
