If your literally getting getting 560 mb then thats just straight up 8 Megabytes a second, that aint Steam, that aint anything but just crap WiFi, 8 Megabytes a second aint fast ya, its rather damn impressively slow and if thats for the whole house then I imagine your only getting a bit of that speed anyways if anyone else is using WiFi they'd be using part of it to.
Like where the heck do you get your internet from???
why cant steam offer a system that says...
you are experiencing slow speeds because of x y and z
speed detection problems..
not saying either is wrong or right... but it should not be so hit and miss...
steam is giving your the power.... you aint got the power to receive it...
browsers can tell me i have a adblocker on everywhere i go...
and windows told me my computer was compatible for win 11
steam do have access to all your computer information already
- why cant they just make it really simple to problem solve...
all the responses here could be automated...
Buddy if you don't have time to download a game, then you don't have the time to be a PC gamer. PC gaming requires you to actually learn how your rig works. PC gaming will always occationally require fiddling and patience.
You should stick to console gaming. You clearly can't handle anything more complicated than plug and play. Or you "don't have the time".
Congratz. You wasted 6k.
So either your isp is throttling steam downloads or you aren't as smart as you think you are and something is wrong with your machine
I'm starting to get the idea this guy has other issues, he's not able to comprehend some of the responses and then he has spewed a wall of text about his computer in the 80s and people in mama's basement and his mortgage....
2gb is 200MB I think the OP thinks it's 2GB or 2000MB. In fairness that is a pretty easy mistake to make.
You're right. Not a single person in this entire thread has gotten the conversion right.
2Gbs is 250MBs
560Mbs is 70MBs.
A byte is made out of 8 bits.
So anything suffixed with byte, is 8 times more than something with bit.
8 megabits is 1 megabyte.
8 gigabits is 1 gigabyte.
Internet providers use this to lie to their customers. They say you're buying "2gig" internet, but they mean to gigabits, so only its actually only 1/8th of 2 gigabytes. The average computer user only knows about "bytes" used in storage, so this tricks people into thinking they have 8* the internet speed they actually do.
and is not happy.
So much anger.
While i am fine.
No one should need to work this much. Either OP made some really poor financial descisions, or his company is complete ♥♥♥♥. I don't care how much you're getting payed. It's clearly not worth it. If you can afford 8+k on a PC, then you can afford to reduce your hours at work.
We don't know his financial situation, but he mentioned first pc in the 80s putting him somewhere between his 40-50s, I've known divorce/alimony to cripple multi millionaires finances.
