Show Non-Steam Game on Friends List?

I've only seen a few posts elsewhere about this but I've added Chivalry 2 from my Epic Games store to my non-steam games list and I'm able to run it from steam but is there any way to get my friends list to show my friends that I'm playing the game?

You can re-name the non-Steam game. So when you launch all will see you can be playing Butt Butt Poo Poo (example) if you named it that.

Your friends will see that you're playing the game even if it's non-steam assuming you set your status as online not invisible or offline

Unfortunately, it does not. I'm not sure if it's an issue with Epic Games being played on Steam but i've confirmed with my friends that they do not see me on Chivalry 2 when i'm playing it.

Make sure your privacy settings have "Game Details" on friends only or public, otherwise they will not be able to see any game you're playing on steam

This might be it.

OP, as someone who's not friended with you I can't see your games list on your profile. That means that your games list is either private or friends-only. So this is probably why your friends can't see what game you're playing.

The games list used to be automatically public if the rest of the profile was public. But one day Steam implemented a separate privacy control for the entire games list (and some accessory features such as showing what game you're playing), and it nowadays defaults to hiding your games list. If you want to keep it visible (like I do), you have to go make it back public instead.

Totally strange...Most of my settings were set to public already. I just checked and made sure everything was set to public, logged into the game, and it still isn't showing up for my friends. I really think it has to do with the fact the only way I was able to run Chivalry 2 on here was taking the target path that goes directly to Epic Games launcher to load it. Maybe there's just no way around it. I hate the Epic Games store, maybe I'll just avoid it moving forward and wait until titles release on Steam.
