Big Picture Mode icons for non steam games help!
Need help to add custom icons for non-steam games in BPM on guest PC.

I use a media centre PC to stream Steam games from a gaming rig over the LAN so I can run them in the lounge on a large TV. Both systems use the same Steam account and no games are installed on the media centre. The games all work fine and the media centre is set to auto-boot into Kodi for movies, media, etc. and I have the Steam launcher app in Kodi that boots Big Picture mode and returns to Kodi on exit. This way I can run the whole system from just a Windows remote control and / or XBox controller and never need a keyboard / mouse attached.
However, I am trying to set game icons for my non-steam games in Big Picture as by default they are blank and it ruins the aesthetic.
I can set the icons on the gaming rig (host PC) by selecting change icon in Big Picture / or from properties in large mode and choosing a pre-downloaded 460x215 image file, but this does not synchronise to the remote media centre.
There is no way to change the game icons on the remote system in Big Picture, but you can change them in large mode from properties and I selected the same 460x215 image used on the host. I have ensured they are in folders with the same path - C:\BPM_Icons, created on both systems. This seems to work, albeit briefly. It adds an icon to large mode (letterbox format) and the full wide icon to big picture. Result! But after restarting Steam they are gone.

I followed the solution in thread below to copy the Steam\userdata\[user]\config\grid folder to the remote system and this does unify large mode but not big picture. There are no 460x215 images in my Grid folder, just the non-steam game icons I set for large mode.

No idea where to go from here ...

With Valve currently updating BPM to the Deck UI, it won't even use those wide ones anymore.

Resolved! Thanks Hotsauce.

Anyone else with this issue see below:

I didn't realise the Steam Deck UI was available for PC under the beta channel. I signed up on guest PC (media center) and added the "-gamepadUI" launch parameter to the Steam launcher app in Kodi (parameter can be added to the Steam.exe shortcut if launching directly). It now launches straight into the new UI which is much better for navigating with controller only, and perfect for use on a large TV in the lounge. Well done Valve and about time.
The new UI only uses the icons from the grid view (large mode) in Steam, so assign your custom artwork to Steam on Host PC for non-steam games etc. then just copy the Steam\userdata\[user]\config\grid folder to the guest PC and it will display the same images on both. No more black placeholder boxes for non Steam games. Nice.
