Controller letter buttons are flipped

Hey, everyone.

Apparently Steam has flipped/reversed/inverted the letter buttons on my Xbox Series controller. A acts as "B", B acts as "A", Y acts as "X" and X acts as "Y". This is happening both IN and OUT of game. I've tried Googling the problem. I've looked on YouTube. So far, I can't find a way to fix the problem. When I went to the controller config in Steam, "Nintendo Layout" was selected. I unchecked that, but the problem was still occurring. I plugged the controller into a different port, but the problem was still there. Can somebody PLEASE tell me how to fix this. I've been using this controller for almost a year with no issue, so I don't understand how or why Steam has randomly changed the mapping.

It's a bug in the Steam client beta. You should opt out of the beta.

Well, at least they fixed it quickly. Hit me this morning and I just opted out as the standard solution.
