Communication between client and Steam
Hello Guys,

Something that I feel that should be improved (and a lot), it's the communication. Most of us already know that the trade/market system seems to be down, but I didn't receive anything by the Steam channels nor any email explaining the situation. I know that because I read here people with the same issues, no matter the region or country.

I don't know if here is the right place to expose this, but every time that some system is down for more than 3/4 hours, it should exist some kind of official information (I think we all deserve to be aware no matter what).

The only information that we're getting by Steam is when you try to confirm any trade or market sale, it says that you should try again later, due to some error.

Things that are offline or are having issues, are usually very temporary. They usually happen on Tuesdays during maintenance. However Steam Stats (unofficial) mention this may be a current issue; https://steamstat.us/

Wait patiently, they don't need to give official communications every time there's a small hiccup with any one system.

This isn't small, it is literally the life blood of everything on here, confirmations on trades and market have been broken for 12 hours, how can that be down for 12 hours?
ig this problem is not for all steam users... as one of my friends performed a trade just today without any errors whereas i am facing the same confirmation error from the last 12hrs...:steamsad:

That is messed up, so a select few get to profit off of recoil cases, they have double in price because of this wow

The thing is, if this was something solved in 3 hours or so, we wouldn't need a big explanation or anything. In this case, it's not working for more than 12 hours. The trade/market system is one of the most important. Just think about all the money involved. I was writing about that.

Even that link that you provided us, it says that the system is "online", when it doesn't seem to be.

So, yes, I think that's something to be improved. A simple message explaining or at least saying when it will be working again would be enough.

No need for hyperbole. Everything else is fully functional and the Store is the primary 'life blood' of the company. If something happens to be down for "12 Hours", chances are serious issues/glitches/exploits are being dealt with. Could also be ISP level problems, mass manual upgrades, etc. Public needs to just wait patiently, you have 365 days a year to do trades. Market works, store works, chat/game supporting architecture works.

Since it's not affecting everyone, it could be a backend issue as well, possibly caused by any one system especially one that scrutinizes accounts or verifies things. We don't know, they're not gonna say. Wait patiently.
