good for first timers and mobiles, mediocre for the rest
Eh, hard to say. The blueprint system Unreal uses is extremely powerful and a massive timesaver, it can save you from writing a huge amount of code. It's more complicated overall and if you do need to write code, C# is a whole lot easier than C++, but UE5 is still a solid pick imo.
You can use a tool in a good way.
You can use a tool in a bad way
Using a specific tool doesn't make a game good or bad. Anymore than using a particular lathe somehow makes you a bad carpenter.
"Gamers" are too enamored with what engine a game uses while having literally zero understanding of game engine at all.
And again are we doing this
Ironsource does not make malware. COmpanies that made malware used a program IronSource made as a distribution tool.
IRONSOURCE NEVER MADE MALWARE
Unity has been using Ironsource FOR YEARS, because its the base platform for their ad based revenue API. If you are going to be screaming about IronSource, then where were you literally half a decade ago when it was integrated as part of the monetization ad delivery API
Unity simply purchased a company who's product they had been using for years as part of their mobile ad delivery platform. This is like being shocked Starbucks bought a coffee plantation while sipping your latte
C# is only a little easier than C++, but C++ is a lot more powerful and IMO the better choice if performance is a concern. For a larger team with a lot of experience of the engine UE is most likely the better choice.
Heck, I believe some Pokemon games use the unity engine as well.
Is there a reason not to like it? It's a tool. I know some people have the weird white screen issue but that's about it.
